You didn't say what printer, but if it's an HP, then remove the printhead and clean the contacts with distilled or bottled water using a q-tip (dampened, not drenched) and perform a POUND 6 (explained in this link). http://www.fixya.com/support/r8534283-hp_all_in_one_printer_acting_up

Insert the head when it complains the head is missing/damaged.
allow the pound 6 to complete...it may take some time!

If that doesn't work, the printer or the head is probably defective. If it's a new printer and it's an HP printer, call 1-800-HP-Invent and they will walk you through this same procedure likely, and then send a replacement head.
But make sure those electrical contacts are clean, and do NOT touch the print nozzels!

If the printer is "brand new" it has a warranty.
Either call the place that sold it to you, or the manufacturer.
Don't void the warranty.

I keep getting a Printhead missing, not installed correctly or has come loose error. I have tried reinstalling the print head, several times and powering off several times but neither help. Any...

HTML clipboardHi
Here are a few possibilities...
1. Try cleaning the contacts on the print head and where they make contact inside the printer. (use cotton wool and Alchol) if that does not work...
2. Pull out power cable from printer wait 1 MINUTE then insert cable and switch back on again. (some printers reset to factory settings)
3. Remove printer cable from computer... Uninstall Printer driver from computer... Switch off both printer and computer. Wait 1 minute... Reconnect cables and switch on printer and computer... Allow computer to find printer... reinstall driver.

Display says printhead not installed or loose

Make sure when you put it in, you are firmily pushing it towards the back of the printer, until you hear a loud snap. When you put it in the first time, DO NOT put the ink cartridges in. Close the cover and wait until it tells you that the ink cartridges are missing. If it is still telling you that the printhead is missing, it should be replaced. You may contact kodak support @ 1 800 421 6699, and have them help you to replace it, free of charge.

The printhead is not for sale.

IF after replacing the printhead you have the same problem, then is the printer the one that needs replacing.

Brand new easyshare printer - says that printhead is not aligned

Even though the printer says that you shouldn't return it to the store if you have trouble, I strongly suggest you to do that.
If you don't want to, you can call the Kodak AiO Support so they can help you replacing the printhead or the printer if necesary

Error message: Printhead missing, not installed correctly or has come loose

In regards to the error message with the printhead missing or come loose......I had that issue just shortly after I installed my printer. I was going crazy trying to fix it taking it out and reinstalling which was a pain, removing the cartridges and then the printhead to no avail. Finally I got smart and disconnected the power cord from the printer itself, not directly from the outlet. Once I did that and turned the printer back on the error was gone. It might have been a fluke, but it worked for me, so you might want to try it.

Lexmark x1180 printer all in one

Clean the contacts on the cartidge and printer ( open the replace ink door wait for the printhead to come to center and turn off power) if that does not work then replace cartridge, it might be a recycled one that they did not chane the chip.
