hello.. First of all, we need to know what type and name for our router. Then we can google it in internet. However we still can try to enter router setting (i guest that is what you find)
Mostly router will used 192.168.1.1. So, you open any internet browser(internet expxlorer, firefox..etc) Then type 192.168.1.1 -------------------------------------------------------- If you don't know the username and password. YOu still can try and try .. I'm also like doing that, but it will waste our time. So, using google website, type "username+password+$brand" $brand is your router model and name. example you are using Lynksis MODEL LT-239212 so type "username+password+Lynksis LT-239212.
Are you speaking about the wireless network password? For this you will need to access the setup page of the router? Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable. open the setup page of the router. Go to wireless tab and change the wireless settings. If you want to change the ' Router ' password then go to administration tab and change the router password.
Connect to internet via your Linksys router. Type 192.168.1.1 into your browser address window and hit ENTER. I believe the default credentials to log in to router are: Username: Password: Linksys But not sure. If that doesn't work, Google "default credentials for Lynksys Wireless G router". Once in, you can change username and password and make all router configuration changes you desire, as well as entering a new net security key.

I suggest checking the documentation of your linksys router in the linksys site. Get the manual and that would tell you how to set it up. Regarding the router being broken, it is possible. Are you wired or wireless to the router?
I believe you will have to lynksys for help. I had a simmular problem and had to have lynksys walk me through resettint a linksys bios problem with that particular problem. You have to change somrthing to set the bios to 10.10.10.103
Or something like that.
I believe you can find Lynksys toll free number on their web site. I also believe it to be with the documentation.
To hook up your lynksys router plug your internet connection wire in the back of the router where it says linksys then run another cable from the slot one to your computer, when you first get your router your username and password will be admin type your IP address into your internets browser window and use your username and password to log onto your linksys router, choose your router settings and there you have it,
