You should give exaclty the name and code of mainboard. Here are basic step for reseting bios:
1. Unplug the computer completely
2. Find the battery of BIOS, it is silver shiny, a bit bigger than the coin.
3. Remove the battery
4. Find the 3-pin jumper NEAREST the battery
5. lift up the jumper. the Jumper connect pin 1 & 2 (pin 2 is the one in the middle)
6. Use that jumper to connect pin 2& 3.
7. Leave it there 2-3 minutes
8. Put the jumper back to normal. IMPORTANT If you dont do this step, the computer cannot start.

I have a dell 3000 dimension desk top computer. The message I get after tapping the F12 key is as follows. Key board failure. Type password and press enter to leave password security enabled next line

The motherboard BIOS is activated when you press the F12 Key and can be locked via a password that is different from your pc user account. There is only one way to reset this because the BIOS is a chip on the motherboard. You have to reset the password using a jumper on the motherboard that is marked with PSWD. This will also clear the CMOS which is Computer Memory on Startup which tells the computer the different changes from the original bios chip. so you may have to go in and set some settings in the bios to have everything back to operational.

Turn off and unplug the tower before opening it.

The password jumper's location on a Dell Dimension motherboard can be found by reviewing the Dimension User Guides.
For most Dell Dimension desktops, the steps to reset a BIOS password and clear all CMOS settings are:
  • Locate the 3-pin CMOS password reset jumper on the system board.
  • Remove the jumper plug from pins 1 and 2.
  • Place the jumper plug on pins 2 and 3 and wait approximately 5 seconds.
  • Replace the jumper plug on pins 1 and 2.
Now replace the panel and plug unit back in. You should be able to enter the bios without a password.

You can over ride the password by reseting the CMOS. To do this you need disconnect the computer from the mains and locate the CMOS reset pins (these are 3 small pins that have a plastic jumper over 2 of the pins, you should also see the word CMOS printed on the board around the pins). Once you have located this you need to slide the jumper off pins 1 and 2, then put the jumper on pins 2 and 3, wait around 10 seconds and then replace the jumper to its original position. Plug the computer back in, boot up and voila the password is removed!

A200 bios password how to remove

HI,

The best way to remove the bios password is to reset your bios jumper. All boards have the jumper, you will move the jumper from it's current position to the next pin. Example. It has two pins. Jumper Pin 1 and 2. The jumper might current be set on pin 1 and blank. Move the jumper to pin 2 and blank. Leave it on for about 10 seconds and then move it back to the original position. This will reset your BIOS.

Good Luck

Pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes so all settings are goes to defaults.
Also you can reset its settings with jumper settings.
You can see 1 jumper onmmotherbord near cmos cell.
Read carefully on bord you read there RESET or CLEAR bios.
it has 3 pins.set jumper in 2-3 position then power up .
Then again set to its original position 1-2.
Then all settings defaults.
Let me know if you need more assistanse.
Thanks.

Trying to locate a service/user manual for the motherboard

Remove the onboard battery out for about 30 minutes, this will cause the bios to go back to the default settings!
Or look on the board for CMOS RAM clear.
Pins 1 & 2 are normal mode and pins 2 & 3 will Clear the BIOS.

It seems like your board has been overclocked you must enter BIOS
2 methods to do so
1) Press one of these keys to do so
DEL F2 ctrl + esc.
or check lower part of screen during boot up will tell you which key to press.
When in BIOS reset to "Default" and see how you go
2) check M/board somewhere on it will be BIOS reset pins
either a 2 pin setting with no jumper across them fit jumper across them for 2/3 minutes then reset to normal and boot.
Or a 3 pin setup change jumper across middle and other pin 2/3 mins then reset them back to standard
either method should do to reset BIOS to default

Dont know why
But try resetting BIOS
1) remove M/board battery for 1 to 2 hours refit and see if bios is back in default mode
2) on M/board will be a 2 or 3 pin reset jumper switch with word on M/board reset bios or similar
On a 2 pin remove the jumper from 1 pin and fit it over both for 3 or 4 seconds then replace back to where it was and reboot
On a 3 pin remove jumper from the 2 pins it is on and fit over middle pin and the one it was not on same time then refit back to how it was and reboot
Your computer should now start and allow you into BIOS

Motherboard problem

if you have tried resetting the bios by putting the jumper across pins 2-3, then back to pins 1-2 and it still wont boot into the bios and you know the memory is ok, then the bios chip on the motherboard is damaged and may not be easy to replace as the board is quite old.
