Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have a cassette player on my stereo. I remember I used to record music FROM video tapes in the long past, but can I record a cassette to a blank dvd on my dvd recorder? I've tried one of those software jacks to convert cassettes to mp3 and it worked horribly. No breaks between songs and quality was horrendous. I have an old recording of a music demo I made years ago and I want to preserve the songs. Help! Thanks, Clay

You can, I have done with all my 80's tapes. You need to be prepared though, time wise of songs. After your ready, just need to connect the audio out from tape, to audio in, on dvd recorder.Everything is the same as movie, just no useing the video imput.

Can I transfer video tapes onto CD's

A lot depends on what type of video tape you use and where do you want to play the DVDs (CDs are for audio recording only). If tape is compact VHS then you can buy a simple DVD Recorder VHS VCR combo player and transfer across easily provided you have the compact VHS cassette module.

For other type of video camera tapes you will have to try other methods like connect camera with tape to a DVD recorder and directly burn the DVDs. You can buy attachments and software for PC but I have found these very cumbersome to work with.

How do I dub using the onyx double cassette deck?

There should be a button or switch that will select the recording deck and the dubbing deck. You put a blank tape into the recording deck and the pre-recorded one into the play deck. Pressing the record button on the dubbing deck, on some models should start the play deck running. If not press play on that deck.

Cd burning problems

Hello.....I have a unit similar to yours...and I never had that ptoblem...These units are cool and I love mine...but the cassette players are generally basic units...When you record are you listening to the music at the same time so that you know what's going on?....Ok....When you start the recording process....and you see the disc is rcording...and the cassette finished playing one side...you PAUSE the cd....Flip the tape....press the Pause again to restart the cd...I've never saw one of these types of uits with auto reverse...you have to flip the tape manualy...if you don't...you will only record half of the music....I hope this was helpful.....PEACE.......

I can't find the manual to my Technics RS-TR272 Stereo Cassette Deck. How do you tape something on one cassette to another?

Place the tape you want to record into the left deck, Then the blank tape into the right deck. Press play on the left deck and record on the right deck.

It may be opposite depending on which side your recording deck is on.

Which ever deck has record, place blank cassette into that one and the cassette you want to copy into the other deck.

Hope this helps and please rate thanks

I have tried to record from Tape to CD with No result. I have followed the instructions for this task, to the letter and still nothing on CD.

Hi,
First make sure yoou are using correct cds. You need CDR Audio discs not blank pc media type (Yes they are different). Once you have the disc type right, make sure you are finalizing the disc as they will not play in other machines until u do this

Can I use this machine (telex copyette 123)to cancel old cassettes by copying a blank cassette onto three cassettes??

You should be able to do that with it, but note that this is a mono copying machine rather than stereo, so it may not entirely write over the existing recording if it is in stereo and the heads are in a slightly different position, but that would be the same for a stereo recorder too.
I think it will work, but really for decent recordings, I wouldn't recommend 'recycling' tapes in this way, they deteriorate fairly quickly.

Records on right channel only so only get music from right speake

If you are recording from an outside source check the connections are good. If it does it from both IE dubbing and external it is possibly that a wire has detached from the head of the record head. The other likely source is the record amp inside the deck. Trace the leads from the Tape head (recording one) and see if you can locate a switch, these can get dirt on the contacts and cut out channels (clean with Servisol video 40). It could also be the electronics especially the amp chip!
If not then the head itself may have gone.

Recording from other sources

The tape outputs is what you need to use. If there is not output on those tape outs, you have a preamp problem I'm afraid. I have seen these go out in the past when someone hooks up an output to the tape outputs and blows out the preamp IC. Good Luck
