Should it? I interpret the need for Audacity or EZVinyl software to mean there's a PC involved somewhere to do the actual number crunching.

SD Card Full

When you install a larger SD card it will be a fresh empty memory card. Your existing 8Gb SD card will still have the the 5 hour gig data on it.
You can insert the 8Gb SD memory card into an USB memory card reader and plug this into the USB port on your computer. The computer will see this SD memory card and adapter as an external storage device. You can then open the audio folder on theis SD memory card and copy this file to your computer.

I have a brookstone brand record player with the ability to convert records to mp3/wma files via a sd slot and a usb slot. Every time I plug in an empty flash drive/ usb toward an external hard drive, or...

External drives require to be formatted before use on somewhere else..
Pls "format" it on your Pc and than try again....
Sometimes proper formatting is possible on the equipment itself (like Digital Cameras )
I was not able to get into your units detailed specs to see if such feature is existed..
if its exist ,you must access thru "set up menu"
Secondly ,if the display recognizes the HD than your Record player will create its own Files/ folders..try to record something even it reads "no file" and than plug it into your PC to see what has been recorded..
Hope this helps!
Take care and please

I have canon camcorder fs30 - I ahve recorded a video to the memory card. I have downloaded Image Mixer 3 (and the version upgraded to 4.51). When I connect to USB the computer does not reconize the...

i would try to access the "memory card" separately. assuming you have an SD installed. this would mean you have an SD reader on your PC as well. if you have both, windows explorer will simply pop up when you insert the SD card. if you have neither, then you have to get the device recognized. first, verify your usb works. try a USB key or thumb drive with files on it to verify it can be used...aka driver installed. if good then camera should be readable. connect with known good USB cable....substitute this out to make sure. make sure camera is on and has power. make sure your camcorder is in play mode - briefcase with play arrow. good luck.

Can I add memory to a Syvania SYNET7WID Netbook?

Not internal usable memory. You are stuck with the 128Meg that came with the machine. You can add storage memory in the form as SD cards, and/or USB drives, such as Thumb drives. or USB hard drives.

My girl took pics of wedding Saturday and viewed pics earlier today. When she went to look at them again, a message " Disc in Drive E is not formatted. Do you want to format disc now?" Of...

do not format -- you will lose the pictures

instead go to another computer that supports SD memory and CDRW. insert into that computer and then take all the PICS, save into that computer. now take a blank CD and take the saved PICs and burn into CD.
Also, to ensure you dont lose these pictures (PICs) you may want to buy a 4G or 8G USB thumb drive (about $10-$15 or less) -- drag and drop all the PICs (saved on that computer) into the USB thumb drive. Now you have on CD and USB drive.

hope this helps

Upload data from memory stick to desktop

When you say memory stick im assuming you mean something such as a usb jump drive (thumb drive) or an sd card ( ex. for a digital camera)

A usb thumb drive you would plug into an empty usb port. Open My Computer or Computer in the start menu.

You will see your thumb drive appear as a drive. You can double click on it to open it and see the data stored on it. From there you can copy it anywhere you want on your pc.

If you are talking about a memory card for a digital camera etc then you need a card reader for your computer. You would plug the card reader in via usb. Plug the card into the appropriate slot and it would show up in my computer just like a jump drive would. Again you can save the data however you would like from there.

Can I use PEN DRIVE or SD CARD for my N364 instead of Floppy Drive? If yes, then how to do it?

You can get the SD Flash card and get the little usb device that you can slip it into that will allow it to essentially be a flash drive and have the best of both worlds...something like this...…
So for like 8 bucks extra you have both a thumb drive and an SD Card. If anything goes wrong with the circuitry in the reader you just get another one. The expensive part is the flash chip. When you have it embedded on the thumb drive and the circuitry on the thumb drive goes...there really is no way for you to salvage the flash chip even if there is nothing wrong with it. Unless you are an electronics expert like me, of course.

Technically speaking they are pretty much the same. There is a little more circuitry that goes into a flash drive. It is the EEPROM and the reader and a light with the usb connector all on one PCB. The SD Card is pretty much just a EEPROM with some leads on it. There is less to go wrong with the SD Card.

I hope you realize that after a while your flash drive and sd card will stop working eventually. It is inevitable.
A flash drive or sd card will last for around 100,000 read/write cycles, so it directly depends on its usage, not necessarilly could conceivably be usable 50+ years from now. However, if you are using it 24/7 as you might a normal hard drive it will only last you a couple years. And, of course, this is barring manufacturer defect and damage, be it physical or environmental.

If I were you I would get a bunch of the cheaper 2 GB SD Cards and put different mixes on each one. This way you do not have all your eggs in one basket. It will not be nearly as expensive if one fails and it will not be as big a heart break if someone steals it or you lose it. It will cost you a few dollars more to get 16 2 GB SD Cards but I think the trade off is worth it.
It will be kinda cool to have a little SD Card case with a bunch of SD Cards with labels on them for your favorite mixes...don't you think?
It's what I would do Do you realize how many songs you can fit on a 2 GB stick? You definately wont be swapping them out every stop light...that much is for sure.

Voice recording transfer

If you have a USB card reader for your memory card, just plug it into the computer and the computer will treat the memory card like a thumb drive. Otherwise, once you select the Mass Storage option, you need to plug the camera into the computer and it should be treated like a thumb drive. I personally perfer the USB card reader, its a lot easier than having to keep up with a cable and remembering to change the camera over to the appropirate mode. Plus the USB Card readers can be found under 10 bucks on the net now. Hope this helps
