Question about RCA RP5010 Digital Voice Recorder

Olmpus Digital Wave Machine Files

I saw your recent answer regarding an Olympus recorder and thought I would try this one on you. Thanks for your consideration.

I recently purchased a digital recorder and make recordings at our family reunion. Today I transferred those files to the computer and they are stored in some form under the software. I can listen to the file on the software program but I would now like to make a copy of these files and send them to my other relatives that were involved in the conversation.

I can't seem to find a way of accessing those files. I can see them listed when I start the program, but I assume that I should be able to find them someother way to make an attachment, since there is no way that I can do anything from the program (at least from my point of view) other than listen to them on my own computer using the program.

How do I find these files to make a copy.

Thanks,

The soluin was perfect and I had not noticed the folder titled Digital Wave Machine nestled between my other folders. I went into the folder, attached a file, sent it to myself, and voila, it was a perfect FixYa.

Your solution was perfect, and I thank you, but the fact is that your follow up comments really set the bar rather high for me. You suggested that I link the files to my IPOD (I am retired and got my first IPOD three months ago). In addition, you suggested I convert all of the wav files to MP3. You have truly challenged me to start learning about files, something I assure you I have never dealth with in my life.

Bottom line, you solved my problem and I truly thank you.

In the program folders of your computer is a folder called Olympus. In that folder, there are four folders for audio files. They correspond to the audio folders you have on you voice recorder. Each file is save with a time a date stamped file name. The files should be saved as wavetable file or wav. These files can be played using windows media player and can be emailed under most cases as well provided the file size for the attachment is acceptable to the recipients e-mail address.

Usually what I have to do is link the folders using ITues. Then files can be synched and converted to mpeg3. That way if someone wants to listen to them on an Ipod or any other mp3 player there easy to transport.

Let me know what you find.

Transfering a stored PC recording

The recordings simply reside on your pc, but not in the "Digital Wave Player" software. The software is merely there to let you play the recordings, probably because they are not in a native Windows format.

If the recordings are "Wave, .wav" files as suggested by the software, then simply locate the files you want to put on disc... I am guessing you want to burn on cd.

Then, use a burning program such as Nero to add these files and burn to disc.

If you don't have Nero, then you would need to figure out what type of burning software your machine has installed and go from there.

DRIVER SOFTWARE

Download the digital player from this link. http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/digitalwaveplayer.zip

Plug in the voice recorder again and it should now find the software automatically through window's automatic hardware finder wizard.

In all fairness, Beerlal posted this solution but to a slightly different question.

Hope this helps
