I have a Pentax Optio V15 camera. It was working beautifully. It got exposed to extremely cold temperatures (-10 degrees) for about an hour and it's never really wanted to turn on since -- even after it was re-exposed to normal temperatures. The lens has been stuck in the out position since I first experienced this problem (well, with one, brief exception). Every time I try to turn it on, the camera starts to turn on, but then one second later, it shuts off. I've tried removing the battery and reinserting it. I've tried removing the data card... still no go. Any thoughts on how I can "reset" this lovely little camera of mine?

Remove the batteries from the camera, wait for 10 minutes, then put them back in and turn the camera on. If this does not work then try the compressed air. With a fine tip blow off the gun, and dry compressed air set the tip between the lens turret and the camera body and turn on the air while moving the tip around a the lens. It should remove all dust and sand. Turn the camera on and it should function as fine.
Secondly give a gentle tap on the sides of the camera and then switch on your camera, you will not get this error message as the internal mechanism which is stuck and causing this problem gets working properly.

If you still face the problem, then the helical threads inside the camera probably got bent to the point that it won't work anymore.
You need to get repaired.
