No picture or sound


Have you checked the bulb? That's the most common cause of loss of picture, and in some models (I'm not sure about yours) if the bulb is out it also doesn't play sound. Since the DVD sound comes in a different port, it may be still playing that. I'm not saying it definitely is the bulb, but that is the most likely scenario, and easiest to fix (just replace the bulb).

This is not a TV problem? The sd-p1600 is a portable DVD player. Are you trying to connect it to your TV? Or is you Portable DVD Player not playing?

You're connecting to an HD connection that's why you are seeing the purple and green.

You should have 3 composite inputs, ie. yellow, white, and green on the back, and on the side in addition to the HD ones you are currently plugged into.

I have a 32 inch sharp tv and it has been working fine, but i just went to watch a dvd and got sound from the dvd but a green, disjointed pattern instead of pictures. i switched dvds and it was the same...


there is a possibility that you have switched the RCA cables for the right port, the color patterns happen if your plug the component RCA ( Y Pb Pr) on a diff port. their usually color coded so please double check that to.

If you have a VCR or a DVD player, connect the red, white and yellow cables to the TV and select video 1 input on the TV.

Is the DVD player connected to the TV via component cables? If so you should have 5 connectors total that will bring picture and audio information to the TV.

check your picture in picture, sounds like your dvd imput is set for split screen, dvd on both sides
