Go to Control Panel and go to sounds and audio devices and select the sounds tab. Scroll to the sound you want to change and click it. after this, click "Browse..." and open the sound/music you want to change it to from where it's saved. click it and confirm the selection (click ok.) make sure that before you click ok for the last time, let me tell you to save your sounds/music you'll use in your own sound scheme or else the computer won't play the sounds/music you selected.

Some speakers not working with your new souround sound system?

New 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound system?

1. Sounds easy enough, but its dark and hard to see sometimes behind your Pc. but make sure the cables are in the correct jacks.

2.Make sure u have a surround sound sound card. check on the internet product page of your pc.

3. Make sure the setting in control pannel>sound is set from stereo to 5.1 or 7.1 depending on what system u have and sound card capabilities.

4. If u have software that has a graphical interface that u can change settings for your sound card, u can change the stereo to 5.1 or 7.1

After changing my BIOS ,the sound port cant work.I install the sound driver software but,no sounds came from the speaker and headphone.

Make sure it is enabled in the bios? do you get a speaker icon by your clock? also check and make sure there isn't a conflict . this is done in the properties tab on device manager. the BIOS update may have change the IRQ settings and now it is conflicting.

I have a emachine w3653 and the sound is horrible. Music and all. Sounds like I'm sitting in a barrel or getting a bad echo.

Dear Jenneric2009,
It would be too early to blame computer sound card for the bad sound quality .. here are few questions for you..
  1. How are you listening to the sound.. I mean through desktop speakers or headphone or you have 5.1 speakers installed etc...
  2. Did it ever work fine?
  3. Do you have any DSP software installed on your computer to modify or enhance sound?
  4. Does it sound the same when you listen it through various software.. For example does it sound the same when you play it in Winamp or in Windows media player ... This will tell us if it has to do with any settings on the player.
  5. Did you relocate your computer/speakers?
Most probably it must be due to software settings where you can set the sound effect like as if you are in a bathroom or in a barrel or in an auditorium etc ...
Please let me know if that helps and let me know about the additional information that I requested above.

Best Regards,

My computer doesnot produce sound when iam playing music

Firstly check your device manager to assure that all drivers are installed properly, If there are no errors in your device manager
then move to the secend step,
I am assuming that your problem is with DVD playback?
DVD's require a software decoder which unfortunately for some reason have been neglected in the operating system, There are free decoders available if you do an online search for "free DVD Decoder download"
If none of these things remedies your problem let me know, I will reply as soon as I can.

Sound from mac mini is not working through hdmi1 connection on samsung lcd hd tv.

Quite interesting... have you tried connecting it to a computer using a VGA cable? when you start it up, do you hear a chime? check the sounds settings under system preferences or check applications that may change the settings sounds( mac pilot app) if you have any.

Keep me posted
