Orange/yellow light keeps flashing, won't print

  • Jim Thurston Mar 24, 2011

How many times does the light flash? It can be from 2 to 8 times. The number of flashes can designate the problem.

SOURCE: canon ip4300 service error b200 green and

Try this:

Pull the power cord out of the back of the printer.

Then move the printhead to the center and pull out the ink and the printhead. Clean the printhead and examine the bottom for burned areas.

With the printhead still out, close the cover and plug the power in and turn the power on. If your printer isn't damaged, it should go through all diagnostics and give you a solic green light. This means you probably need a new printhead.

SOURCE: hp deskjet 5652 not printing, orange light flashing continuously

1. Check to insure the cover is shut down completely.

2. If the "Ink Drop" Icon is blinking you are either out of ink, or there is a problem with the cartridge carrier. So open the cover - the carriage should move to the middle, if not it is bound up somewhere. Check the guides and around the carriage area for gummy labels etc..

3. If the carriage moves to the middle, release the ink cartridges and replace.

4. If the "Arrow" Icon is blinking, this could be a result of a paper feed error. Remove the paper from the tray, open the cover and insure no jams are in the rollers. Shuffle the paper lightly and place back in tray. Check to make sure the tray is pushed completely forward and then press the "Arrow" Icon button until a sheet is fed into the printer.

* * Note: When you are replacing the Ink cartridges and before you remove the tape from the bottom heads, give them a shake to lossen up the ink before installing.

SOURCE: hpd4160 printer yellow light keeps flashing, status, "off line"

See this notice about the flashing light. Then see this article, particularly step 4. You may need to clear the print queue & restart the print spooler. Make sure you reboot your system. If that doesn't correct the issue, try a power reset as described here before uninstalling or reinstalling the printer software.
The printer uses your system memory to print from, and communication glitches do occur.
Good luck.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

My orange light next to the yellow dot blinking and the printer will not print

When the orange light is solid it means the cartridge is low and you can still print. But when the orange light is flashing it means the cartridge is empty and the printer stops printing. To continue printing you will need to replace the yellow toner cartridge. The part numbers are Q3972 regular yield or Q3962A high yield.

Hp5740 printer

There are 2 lights, one green and one orange.

If the green one blinks, there's no problem (As says on the manual it blinks cuz is preparin to print)

If the Orange one blinks There are 2 problems:
a) Paper Jam
b) No Paper or Paper Sensor Trapped.

Just keep reading th Owner's Manual and Say somethign if there are no solution.
