Question about Dell 4210X DLP Projector

1 Answer

I have had my dell 4210X ceiling mounted projector / smartboard in my classroom for a few months. In the beginning I could turn everything on and use the blank screen option throughtout the day. Recently, the projector powers down/turns off without notice and in different scenarios. Did I change a setting that is powering it down or is a projector malfuction?

My office has a Dell 4210X projector. When we turn the projector on, a message appears that says it cannot display the current resolution. If we re-start the Dell Desktop computer that is hooked up to...

The PC interigates the projector when it is booted, that is why it works when connected for the second time. If you connected it up and after waiting for the projector to boot, then boot the PC, it may well save you the trouble of resetting the resolution to match the projector.
Hope that helps.

LCD Ceiling-mounted projector keeps overheating.

canned air from the outside is good, but a lot of the dust collects on surfaces and bakes on. for best results, remove the top cover and blothe dust out of every nook and cranny, wipe it off of the fan blades, and make sure all of the fans spin well. you may need to replace the temp sensors if it happens too frequently. also, during the winter when the heat is on full blast, it tends to get very hot on the ceilings. is there enough air flow in the room? lastly, make sure they turn them off at the end of the school day. this will lenghten the life of the power supply and the lamp.

Casting image lower on wall

I don't know the model number for your projector, but most projectors are designed to place the image level with the bottom of the projector, which works great for tabletop mounting but not so great for ceiling mounts.

If you're mounted at ceiling height, try turning the projector upside down to see if it places the image in the right place on your screen. If that fixes it, then use the on-screen menus for your projector to flip the image and you should be all set.

EIKI EIP 5200 won't display anything

it's overheating. clean it out with canned air. dust keeps in the heat that the projector is trying to expell. it also decreases the air flow.
