Hey, this is the same solution that is already on the web site and as I SAID... The instructions do not match the interface. Also, I asked WHERE IS THE INK WASTE TANK AND HOW DO YOU GET TO IT TO CHANGE IT. I cannot find any documentation anywhere that shows where it is located inside the printer.

Please get me on the right track. Thanks, ron

  • ronjamesfilm Mar 25, 2011

    Okay this is ridiculous.

FOR THE THIRD TIME, I ASK YOU, WEHRE IS THE WASTE TANK AND HOW DO I CHANGE IT OUT.

  • ronjamesfilm Mar 28, 2011

Okay this is getting stupid. The waste tank info you sent me is for consumer printers, the w8200 is a large format printer. the info does me no good. There is a canon guy on fixya, get him to help me please. I am only going to say this ONE MORE TIME> I need to know where the waste tank is on the CANON W8200 and how to change it.

  • ronjamesfilm Mar 30, 2011

Dude, it doesn't work. . Now I have been going back and forth for days. ONE MORE TIME:

come on, man. I need this answer:

Where is the waste tank? How do I change it out?

  • ronjamesfilm Mar 30, 2011

    Your instructions:

"Now under Service Mode select Counter, and select Printer and W-INK to reset it, and under initialize selectW-INK."

THERE IS NO INITIALIZE OPTION ON THE WASTE INK COUNTER, NOR CAN I SEE HOW TO RESET IT

WOULD YOU PLESE READ MY QUESTION CAREFULLY AND ANSWER IT PROPERLY? THIS IS STUPID

  • ronjamesfilm Mar 30, 2011

Well it would help if you would read the question and answer it. whats wrong with you?

The waste ink container is on the right side of the printer but you have to take the panel off the side and the control panel(power switch) etc. Then you have to remove the strange shaped metal panel under the side panel which covers part of the head cleaner.

  • ste_polecat
    ste_polecat Dec 19, 2012

I should add that you also have to remove the filter on the back on the right hand side of the printer so you can pull the ink waste cartridge out

It is a pain to do but once you have done it it is easy to do again.

I own a canon w8200 pigment large format printer. I replaced two cartridges, Magenta and Yellow. The printer did a nozzle check that seemed to take too long. I then received a 'waste ink tank full'...

<Remedy>
1.Waste ink absorber
Use SERVICE MODE>COUNTER>PRINTER>W-INK to check the waste ink
absorber. Replace if the waste ink level is near the limit (14400).
After replacing the tank, perform SERVICE MODE>INITIALIZE>W-INK.

Canon I965 waste tank almost full - how do I clean/empty or clear

You will have to get it replaced by a Canon agent.
Phone Canon for nearest agent
Just had mine done cost £50.00 +VAT

The codes on line to reset counters will not solve the problem and eventualy ink will leak from the printer.

Canon muti-pass MP360 INK TANK FULL

I believe what you are seeing is "WASTE INK TANK FULL"? This means that the tank that collects the waste ink from cleaning the head is full. You can read more than you ever want to know on this subject on the following link: http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/38697#1 These are the steps to clear the message by reseting the counter: 1)Printer on, press Additional Functions, Scan, Copy, Scan Now you should be in service mode from there for waste ink tank reset 2)Select Test mode which is like the last available selection 3)Select #8 Printer Test, it will do something here like cleaning or something then it will come up with some other options this is where it gets a bit confusing cause now all it says is like 8-2 or 8-3 push the + or - button until it says 8-3 then hit the select button The menu will now say EEPROM Clear Select Ink count which is option (0) and press set Your done!
