Question about General Electric Dryers

Open Question

I have an older GE dryer model DBXR463GB0WW that is making load sqeeking noises that reduce some after runing for awhile. How to know if it is the rear or front drum bearing or the drum slides that need replacing? How to get at both?

SOURCE: ge dryer makes grinding noise when drum is turning

If youve made sure that its not a roller thats dry or a belt idler pulley that dry, than yes its the motor, and oiling that will only make it worse.

you need to replace the inner plastic "shell" and the teflon pieces that the drum rides on. The dryer drum has eaten thru the teflon slides, and has probably started eating the shell away also.

About $40 in parts available on line will fix the problem.

Check the blower, something may be stuck in it or it may be broken, also check the 2 tank rotors that hold the tank in place, they may be damage or it may be a little bit of oil.

Dryer struggling to turn and making noise.

first off send the brand name and model number off of the dryer open the door and look around the opening where you put the clothes in and you'll see the model number.there is only one belt, you could have a bad roller,or a bad belt pulley or something in the blower wheel from running the dryer with the lint filter out, something can go down where the filter goes and get into the blower but the only way to tell is by getting in there,if you need help send info or go on utube and put in your model and brand name, there's tons of videos out there on taking apart dryers.

My GE high capacity dryer has just started making a low whining noise off and on. Any ideas?

sounds to me like the dryer bearing in the very back of the dryer is going out. other possibilities could be the tephlon bearings in the front shroud of the dryer. If the model is one of the older styles 1990 and older i think?
I do apartment maint. so I see this problem from time to time.

Hi, My LG dryer is making a sqeeking noise when turned on. Pretty loud at first and then sound reduces further in the drying cycle. Any suggestions?

If you can open one of the smalle panels to see inside around the drum- check to see if the belt is rubbing and there is black rubber dust or strings around that area. It is probably one of the bearings or felt gaskets or seals that the drum rides on.

Dryer is not hot. there is no heat coming out

A couple of quick things to look at.
1, Make sure the gas valve is on and there is a gas supply.
2, If the vent duct is not clean or restricted, the vent sensor will not allow the burner to ignite, also make sure the burner exhaust vent is clear. Any restriction of the air inlet or exhaust will cause the burner to not function.
Let me know what you find and we can go from there.
Good luck.
Regards,
