Question about Compaq Presario CQ60-220US PC Laptop
Solutions: Replace the inverter. Small board that sits below the screen when you take it apart and sells for about $6 on ebay. Another reason for a black screen is a faulty LCD connector cable. its the cable that connects the screen to the motherboard. It sits near the hinges of the laptop. In time they become worn from open and closing. Try reflowing the video chip with a heatgun. youtube has plenty of videos. Next, do a driver update. Two drivers to look for in particular. BIOS updates usually come with improvements for the system. And the graphics driver should be updated. One of your memory modules could be faulty. make sure you are using matching sticks from the same manufacturer. And lastly, the most obvuous at times and most expensive of them all is replacing the screen.
