Basically get out your receipt or warranty card and call the dealer where you purchased it. They can give you the repair procedure. Since you have a warranty, you should not try to fix it yourself. Contact your dealer.

Can I fix a broken bobbin winder on my Janome sewing machine by myself?

If your bobbin winder is malfunctioning and you are unable to resolve the issue, for ~$25 you can purchase a stand-alone bobbin winder at the local fabric store (JoAnns or Hancocks) or even online (Amazon).

I have a Janome Memorycraft 7000 machine. The display has gotten progressively darker and now I cannot see it at all to select stitches. What do I need to purchase to fix this and where do I get it?

This could be a symptom of a backlight issue for the LCD screen. The entire screen may need to be replaced. If your sewing machine is under warranty, take it to the shop or contact the company. For contact info see: http://www.janome.co.jp/e/e_links/america.html . I do not see a MemoryCraft 7000 listed on their site. The 9000 is listed as a retired model which came with a 20 year warranty (except for the electrical/electronics which have a 2 year warranty).

Unfortunately, Janome doesn't sell repair parts to non-dealers to the best of my knowledge.

I wish that I had better news.

Call Euro-Pro's customer service for sewing machines at 800-787-7395. They can walk you through some solutions and if nothing else charge a labor fee of $40 to service it. The Euro-Pro model 9110 is supposed to have a 25 year warranty so you should be able get it fixed without too much hassle.

I have a Husqvarna Viking quilt 870 sewing

The overload message is usuall due to a bind in the mechanical function of the machine. When the motor has an extra "load" caused by something like a tight belt or dry bearing, it "overloads" the motor and the error message is displayed. It is doubtful your problem is computer related. Either way a trip to your service tech is required. If you continue to sew with it, you do run the risk of possible damage to some other parts of your machine. The computer portion of your Husqvarna is guaranteed for 5 years and the mechanical parts carry a 20 or 25 year guarantee depending on when you purchased your machine. A copy of your bill of sale from a Husqvarna Viking dealer or a stamped warranty card is the proof of purchase needed to obtain warranty replacement of parts. Labor is only guaranteed for 1 year.

Huskystar C20 lights up but doesn't work

sounds like circuit board has gone bad. If you are the original owner and purchased from an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer it may still be under warranty. There is a 1 year warranty from date of purchase. Contact your local authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer for service or have them send it to Husqvarna Viking (SVP) Technical Service Department for repair. You can find authorized dealers near you from the Husqvarna Viking website - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us

Good luck.

Error message on Brother SE-270D

I had the same issue a few years back but with actual symptoms of malfunctioning. I had mine fixed under warranty. The service tech told me it was a faulty circuit board. Works perfect now. I think the warranty is only for the first year to cover labor and parts. Not sure how much it would be out-of-pocket. This happened within 3 months of a brand new purchase. Hope this answered your question.

Warrantee for Esante

The 25 year warranty only applies to parts that came from the factory defective: not parts that break during use. It also only covers replacement of the part, not labor to repair nor transportation of the part.

The 25 year warranty is probably the most useless warranty in existence. Some company (that shall remain nameless,) started advertising it heavily many years ago, and everyone else followed suit to compete.

Most machines have an effective 1 year parts and labor, and 5 year electronics warranty.

For a more accurate diagnosis of your machine, bring it to a warranty station. They'll be able to tell you the warranty status of your machine as well as diagnose the problem, and repair it as necessary.
