Question about Fisher and Paykel Refrigerators

1 Answer

Fisher and Paykal frig/freezer E372B I cannot get the 2 bins, middle bin, and smaller bottom bin back on to their runners, with the runners pulled either forward or back. The runners are seated correctly in place. But what seems the logical way, ie, to just push the bins into their runners' slots, is stopped by little left and right pillars, after a few cm. Thanks.

    Hi Richroth,

I tried that both with runners pushed in and also out. at 45 degrees..
There is no way to get past those little pillars, as far as I can see.

If the pillars were gone it would just slide in....

Try lifting the bins up to a 45 degree angle when you get to that point and try sliding them in.

Side by side only gives crushed ice and water, not cubes.

Open the freezer. Pull the ice bin OUT. Look underneath the ice bin as you push it back in. There is a metal rod that must go inside a hole in the back of the freezer. Push the bin in and the metal rod into the hole until the bin LOCKS in place.
When the ice freezes to the bottom of the bin it will cause the bin to JUMP when you activate the ice lever. This causes the bin to dislodge from the hole and crushed ice results.

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back/bottom of may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the fridge is because the water has been leaking into the freezer and down the vent into the fridge instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you need any further assistance. I'd say you most likely need a new defrost element and evaporator Chassis. You'll most likely find there's a big lump of ice behind the evaporator chassis in the freezer inturn blocking the fridge vent or the defrost element is burnt out icing up te Evaporator. It pays to replace both anyway you'll need to unplug the unit and leave the doors opens for 48hrs to defrost it first. cheers

How to place back the freezer trays for E522B refrigerator

Make sure to return the correct tray/bin in the right runners. All three freezer trays have different designs on each side, which means that the top tray must be returned to the top tray and cannot be interchanged with the second tray. What happened in my case is, I was trying to put the 2nd tray to the first tray that's why I had difficulty replacing it back and would not fit.

Freezing in frig.

Check the air dampers at the bottom of the fresh food section. They may have been moved to a open position. If so close them up some.
Otherwise the cold control thermostat may need to be replaced.

Water dripping from somewhere inside the refrigerator

I believe the problem is with the drain line when the frig goes into defrost mode

see if you can trace the drain line that oes into the evaporator pan at the bottom of the frig

facing the frig remove the bottom panel that goes across the front and pull out the evaporator tray to see if it is dry

take a flashlight and see if you can see a plastic tube that the water should be dripping into the pan

try to trace the tube up into the frig ther is some type of catch basin inside the frig on the back panel usually around middle area

If you are not able to find it you can call whrlpol customer service 1-800-253-1301
or call an appliance service enter and as them f they can walk you through the problem

Good Luck

Water accumulates under vegetable bins and spills out the front

the water is coming from the freezer when is defrosts. the drain line is in the back wall of the freezer and may be clogged up with ice. clean out the freezer and pour some hot water in the very back of the freezer, this will hopefully unclog the drain. if not, then you have to take the back wall out of the freezer to get directly to the drain line. there should just be a couple screws holding it; it is just an aluminum or plastic panel.
