The machine is really lying to you, as it is really looking for a password/network key to access your network.
Please try and follow the detail below.

It is looking for apassword (WiFi Network Key) You have to double click on the little computericon down in the right tool bar area, the one with the two side radiating arcs, and possibly has a small red X under it. The red X indicates that it is NOTconnected. When you double click on that icon a window called RT28701 opens up,then you click on Wireless Information tab, then you cursor down to the name ofyour WiFi and high light it and click the connect box. Then another windowopens up called Network Properties. Uncheck "The key is providedautomatically" box. This will allow you to type in your "NetworkKey", the password that protects your network from outsiders. This"KEY" was set up when you installed the router on your servercomputer. If this does not work at first, turn the machine over on its back andusing a toothpick, insert it into the little hole about an inch diagonally fromthe right corner of the data plate, this will re-load a new copy of everythingincluding the WiFi RT28701 driver. sometime thisdriver gets confused. See my TIP at: It is looking for a password (WiFi NetworkKey) You have to double click on the little computericon down in the right tool bar area, the one with the two side radiating arcs, and possibly has a small red X under it. That is a clueto me that the automatic sign on has not found a viable network, or needssomething else. If I then click on Wireless Information tab, the list ofavailable networks, appear in the box. The machine keeps trying to associate myprevious entered name site with my preferred site and tells me the signal isgood, but it cannot link up. This is a signal to me that it has lost my NetworkKey or that the softwarehas failed or both. I then click on advance and delete my preferred network andhit OK, this will force the software to ask me for my network again, and noticethat the preferred is missing. I click on the name of my network again and thenhit connect., then the Wireless Network properties window opens up and I caninsert my Network Key again after I uncheck the "The key is providedautomatically" box. I enter the key and hit the OK button. I still do notget a connection, so I reboot the machine, and wait for about 30 seconds andthe machine synchs up because the little RED X under the icon has disappeared. Now the machine will hook to the internet as long as I want to, but sometimeswhen I turn the machine on it will not synch, so I go through the abovesequence again. The secret is once you have entered your key and ask for themachine to synch up you have to reboot. Why? I do not exactly know, but Isuspect that the WiFi driver looses it You may also wantto look at the TIP http://www.fixya.com/support/r7679654-sylvania_syneto7526_wirless_keyboard To make your knowledge complete AdditionalInformation When I try to signon with the red X showing, I get "The page cannot be displayed If I thendouble click on the icon down in the right corner I elucidated above, RT28701opens up to "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) with all zeros in the IP addressfield, and Subnet Mask, with no entries in the default gateway. Stop pop up adverts on web sites..endless interference sites load by them self.

Some routers can be configured to block certain websites as a manual process (one site at a time). You need administrator rights to log in to your router and do this.

Your browser may have a pop-up blocker option in the preferences that can be checked to activate it. If your computer is displaying countless "pop ups" when browsing the Internet it could because malware has changed the settings of your browser. Check your browser's preferences to see if your home page and/or search engine preferences have changed (without you changing them.) If you don't recognize the page or search engine in your preferences change them back to your preferences. Recheck these settings again after you've restarted your computer.

Your browser ( IE,Mozilla firefox) might blocked a pop ups. go to tools up above clear recent history >>> choose everything ( include saved page or some saved password will be deleted )
in the other hand, try download skype with quote : skype.zip rather than skype.exe.

This sounds like it is related to software such as a firewall, anti-virus, or perhaps a router configuration. Try to configure these if you have them.

When the growth of mobile devices because such that their smaller screens made many web pages appear "too busy," web masters changed things to permit mobile users to see a scaled down version of the page for better usability (love those big words).

It's not that there's a necessarily a spyware issue.

Hello. I have the 7 inch Sylvania netbook and the WiFi internet is not working. I've connected it to my home WiFi internet and it has good signal and everything but when i click on Internet Explorer it...

Google "digital gadgets.com". There find "Sylvania Products". Then click on "7 inch netbook support" and follow directions.
For item # 5, you may have to call your Internet Service Provider (Charter, AT&T or whoever you pay for your internet in order to get your "network keys" fill that in and then click "OK".

Next be sure you go to "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", "Internet Options", "General" and complete "user agent (requires browser restart" by selecting:
"Default (same as windows XP)" or
"Same As Pocket PC" or
"Windows CE".

I selected "default" and was off and running.

Although this isn't a "lap-top" it is a really neat little machine and does a lot of stuff almost like one. It should be great for travel! It is a little slow and has small memory, but it's inexpensive and usb/sd ports are onboard. A regular universal mouse helps-just plug it into a USB port. I'm doing internet, movies, word processing, etc like everything and I think a lot of people are way under-rating this fun little machine! -DKA-

Disconnection issues with home wifi.

First install the latest LAN and wireless drivers.
Second all the NIC ans wireless cards need to have the TCP/IP address to be obtained automatically (no fixed IP addresses unless you have a print server with a fixed IP address, then assign this address high so there is no possible conflict). The D-Link is also a DHCP server and issuses IP addresses to the various LAN and wireless card so there won't be any IP address conflicts.
