Question about MPC Computers ClientPro 414 All-In-One PC Desktop

1 Answer

I have MPC 414 and it boots up to the desktop. After a few seconds, it tries to reboot itself and continues this for several more times and then goes the the MS-DOS screen where it gives me the option to work in safe mode. I have tried safe mode but continues to loop on its boot up. Is it possible the AC power supply could be the issue?

It could be caused by a lot of things, but it is usually a hardware problem, especially if it occurs randomly. A noisy power supply, loose screw under the motherboard, bad CPU fan, and memory, expansion boards, socketed chips, and cables that are not fully seated are among the common causes.

Clientpro 414 won't read a dvd with an iso file.

Judging by this review, your computer possesses a CD drive and NOT a DVD drive.

Your best luck at installing Linux (Good choice for an old computer by the way) would be to use a USB Drive for the installation.

You should find the instructions for creating a USB Drive and for booting from live USB on the website of the Linux distribution you're trying to install.

Good luck!

I am looking for restore software?

There may be a hidden recovery partition on your hard drive. Reboot the PC and hit F10 several times right after it reboots, but before it begins Windows. If F10 doesn't work, try other F keys. The recovery partition allows you to restore the PC to its original factory state. Just be sure you back up all your data to an external hard drive or flash memory card before you do that.

Where can I find a power supply cord for an MPC 414 All-ion-one

From what I've read MPC declared bankruptcy last year which makes finding those parts somewhat difficult. However, ECS manufactured MPC and its associated parts. Therefore, if you visit their website, choose your location, browse to their support section, then contact them (via email or phone) they will be able to get you information on the power unit and, possibly, where to purchase it.

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ - ECS Website

NOTE: From my initial research, the power cords for the MPC 414 does not seem to be inexpensive.

Let us know how things turn out.

Get My Drivers

Hi,
The company that built the ClientPro 414 for MPC sold it to several other companies. It is also known as the Mecer Multimedia PC L19IA.

Here are the XP drivers directly from Mecer:
