What kind of device is it? you need to check what specific device that is, then you need to get the disc that came with it, that is the driver software that you need to install. if you lost the disc then you need to google that device and look for driver software. once you install this driver it will work fine.

Samsung galaxy s I9000 mtp driver

  1. The x86 link gets you an exe file. This can be unpacked/unzipped with 7zip freeware in exactly the same way as a zip file.
  2. Navigate to device manager (control panel ->Device Manager or Administrative tools -> computer management -> device manager)
  3. Navigate to "portable devices" or "MTP" in device manager, whichever one shows up with the error. There will probably be a little yellow error triangle on your device that has the problem.
  4. Right clicking on the faulty MTP device in device manager and hitting "update driver software" gave me the option of searching automatically and browsing my computer manually. Don't select Search automatically as it will fail. Click browse my computer for driver software - the manual way and navigate to the folder you unzipped the drivers into, tick include subfolders and hit OK.
  5. The drivers will load and indicate your I9000 (Galaxy S) device was connected.

My ipod touch shows up as a camera and ive tried site user ekse's solution but whn i go to upload driver i cant find any thing other than my ipod as a camera

ok you can try this method : 1. First off you need to have iTunes installed and the ipod touch plugged in and recognized as 'something' e.g. digital camera (it shouldn't really matter what it's recognized as, but it needs to be found by windows).
2. Search for usbaapl in the C:\WINDOWS system folder: o open windows explorer (e.g. Right-click Start and then click 'explore') o right-click the WINDOWS folder and select 'Search'). o type in usbaapl and hit Search - try to ignore the dog! You should find the driver info in a sub folder of C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE e.g. C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\usbaapl_A65621D65F5B7507DD7B22331826547BDD2D206B Remember that location (either leave the search box open or copy the folder name into note pad - you'll need it later) If you don't find usbaapl.sys, usbaapl.inf etc. then your drivers have not been installed with the iTunes install and you'll have to reinstall iTunes.

3. Locate the ipod-camera device: o Open the device manager, e.g. using Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System > Hardware Tab > Device Manager o Look for a device called 'ipod' - if your ipod shows up as 'digital camera' it will be under something like 'imaging devices'.
4. Update the driver: o Right click the 'ipod-camera' in device manager and click on 'Update Driver' - the Hardware Update Wizard will open. o Check the 'Install from a list or specific location' then click 'Next' o Check 'Search for the best driver in these locations'. Un-check 'Search removable media' and check 'Include this location in the search'. In the text box below type (or better copy and paste) the folder containing the ipod driver information found in step 1 (in the example above it was C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\usbaapl_A65621D65F5B7507DD7B22331826547BDD2D206B), then click Next. You should now see something like 'Apple ipod device driver' or so. Continue installing that device. Once the driver has been installed the ipod will come to life and iTunes (if you have it open) will show it.

P.S.:if you didn't find the updated drive in STEP1 you can try to find the updated drive file in C:\windows\system32\drivestore\FileRepository\usbappl.inf

I had formated my e1501 lap and i installed the drivers found in dell site every thing is working fine but audio drivers dosen't function i had tried many driver found in web  nothing is correct so plz...

Hi dart_kasinat, From time to time windows needs a more direct method when installing sound device software, this sounds like one of those times.
You mentioned you installed the drivers found at Dell. Click on this Dell link & confirm this is the site you were at; http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INS_PNT_1501&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=
(Sigmatel-driver)?
Try this. I need you to open windows device manager. Open windows control panel. Than open the System icon. In the System properties window click the hardware tab & than click the device manager button. Device manager will open. Scroll down to, Sound, video and game controller. (This may already be opened).
Look for a yellow upside-down pair shape with an explanation mark in it. Or you may find "Unknown PCI device".
Leave everything you have opened & go to your desktop. Create a folder there. To create a folder on your desktop right click once within a clear spot on the desktop. A pop-up window will open. Left click New & slide to & left click Folder. You now have a folder on your desktop. Right click once on the folder & slide to & left click Rename. Type the name "sound driver". Open the link above from dell & download the Sigmatel-driver, file name (R171789.exe) into your sound folder.
(This is the correct driver for your Dell E1501 notebook).
Open the sound driver folder. Double left click the file, R171789.exe Pay close attention to where it will want to uncompress its self. (It will create a new folder with all the needed files for your sound). Most likely it will create a folder named, (R171789). Now things get a little tricky.
Go back to the still opened device manager. Find the upside-down yellow pair with the ! point in it or the Unknown PCI device. Right click on it once. A pop-up window will open.
Left click once on “update driver”. Windows hardware wizard will open. Click No, not at this time. Than click the next button. Another window will open. Left click once in the circle next to, Install from a list or specific location (Advanced). Than click the next button. Again, another window will open. We want to remove the green check mark next to, Search removable media (floppy, CD-ROM...). Left click on the green check mark once & it will go away.
Click the browse button, click the + sign next to my computer. Find the R171789 folder in your system. Most likely it will be at, C:\ R171789. Do not open it, just high-light it by left clicking on it once. Than click OK.
Windows will search within the folder & install the correct driver software. If by some chance windows does not, repeat the above & open the R171789 folder. Find the “setup.exe” & click on it once. Than click, OK. Windows should install the driver. Close all opened windows & restart your system. Test you audio by running “Sigmatel icon within control panel”.

Good luck Sudhan!
Still have no sound? Just let me know here.
