if its full of water then it switches on. so.. does the door lock.....if so then the problem is either the motor brushes, or the capacitor which is the largeish silver can seen at the rear of the machine at the top.. with the lid off
follow the mains wire into the machine 2 wires go to the cap...then 2 others go from the cap into the loom.
if its the motor brushes they are easy fix .but.there are about 4 different types of motor used...on the end of the motor you can see 2 holders 1 either side of the motor shaft. they either press in n click......or are held in by 2 screws......just remove a brush and buy new set from washer shop or market stall. just have machine make and model number with you.......
if the door doesnt lock.......then you are dealing with bad interlock or machines main timer or circuit board...........
so cheaper if its the cap or brushes.......
    anything else..just shout.......................

    cheers

Whirlpool AWM 5080 the timer wont advance, I have run through the diagnostics test thats in the service manual and everthing seems to be working fine, but when I start a cycle it will fill up agitate then...

First check your washer plug to see if the connections are tightly screwed. Next check your filter if you haven't for long.

Remove the 3 screws at the bottom of the front panel under the washer door. Your filter door will be light brown. If you find a hose there it is to drain out excess water (water that could not be drained by your pump) After you hv drained unscrew the cap and remove all the junk inside. Have a large plastic bag to catch junk and water. Refit carefully after cleaning out. If not solved, something shd be blocking your pump, check this out. Door locked? Press "end of cycle" for 3 seconds, wait for 2 minutes & try the door. F-21 filter blocked.

How abt a nice rating for the free help? Thnks

Whirpoll AWM 6000 does not take water.

What to check next is the water inlet valve. To do it, turn on the machine and start the filling cycle. If you cannot hear a faint buzzing or humming noise from the water inlet valve, the solenoid coil is not getting any power. Check it's wiring. If you can hear some noise, you need to replace it. Make sure to unplug the unit before doing any service.

F15 - Motor Control Unit (MCU) Error - Disconnect power and unplug unit to check wire harness connections to the motor, MCU, and Central Control Unit (CCU).
Check the drive belt and reconnect power and plug unit in.
Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor and check the drive motor for powered rotations.

Whirlpool Washing Machine AWM 029 is not draining

Hi.
I assume you have checked to see if the pump is working,
Select drain and spin, if water does not go away, then you have a pump problem, which will stop the programme completing.
Please leave feedback.
Thanks

Washing cycle starts and takes hours even for short cycle.

Try checking for good water supply.
Pull out detergent tray and check for good water supply during filling.
if poor filling-
Try checking the hoses.
Turn taps off, disconnect from machine, place hose end in sink, turn tap on and check for good water flow.
if the hose has a red indicator in the side of the hose (end which is fitted to the tap) - Red indicator is a failed hose.(for models with Water Stop hose type "B")
