SOURCE: After changing a blown oven light, the clock works but nothing else turns on, including the fan, light, microwave

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inoperable or stuck on too.

SOURCE: lg LMV1630st stainless steel microwave oven

I'm confused. If it's 6 weeks old, you can get it repaired free.

If it's 1-1/2 years old, the manufacturer will cover the part cost of the magnetron (assuming that's what's wrong) and you will have to pay for labor and any other needed parts.

Also, the subject line mentions a model LMV1630ST while your message body mentions model LMV1680BB.

For Goldstar / LG / customer service, help, call 1-800-243-0000 (M-F, 7am-8pm CT, Sat 8-5 CT) and choose the appropriate prompt from the menu or visit here.

Chances are your problem is a bad magnetron, but it may be another high voltage part.

SOURCE: JVM1850BH02 Microwave completely shut down, not working after...

The extreme heat has opened up one of the thermostats / thermal cutouts (TCOs) in the oven.

If it was the bottom TCO or magnetron TCO, you should be able to access them by just removing the control panel.

But if it's the one on top of the cavity, the oven will have to come out of the wall, then you need to pull of the outer cover..

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

You should locate and look this over first.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

SOURCE: Amana Radarange model ACO1860AS- does not work at all

That model would be ACO1860AS-, not AC01860AS by the way. That will make it easier to find info on it.

Chances are the heat from the stove top (when used without having the hood vent exhaust fan on as required) has blown the bottom thermostat/thermistor (called "Thrmst-fix" on the part list) or maybe the oven cavity thermostat.

Accessing some components for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall.

SOURCE: my GE spacesaver oven JVM230 quit, like a fuse

This is almost certainly a blown thermistor. This device is located at the air outlet on the microwave. This is a thermally sensitive resistor that cuts power if the unit overheats for safety. It can fail because of age also. Replace with the save value unit. You can get this part from electronics stores like Radio Shack.
Go to;
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/modelsearch.aspx?model=JVM1640SJ

click on your model number. Then on the next page you can select diagrams to look at.

Electrolux wall mount micro wave oven combo doesn't work

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Electrolux wall mount microwave oven combo is not working. I see that the oven is working, but the microwave is not. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and try any setting. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. If further troubleshooting is needed, please provide me with the model number of your air conditioner. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Unplug for 60 seconds to see if it will reset, if no! the fuse in the microwave has opened/ or if the model is the new type, it is the keypad control board or smart board.

Food not getting heated

There are three common issues, magnetron "heats food" cracked high voltage diode, or a shorted high voltage capacitor. In order to find out you will need a professional to assess, it will be probably cheaper to replace the microwave oven.

We turned on our oven last night and it heated up to 345, wanted to get to 400, then my wife saw smoke form the right hand front of the inside of the oven. I wanted to check the element, but can't figure...

I am assuming you are referring to a conventional stove. First shut off power to the stove at the breaker panel. (either a 40 or 50 amp breaker). Check to see if the elements come on before proceeding.
Slide out stove and unplug it. Look on the back. There will be a vertical piece of sheet metal with 1 to 3 screws or a large flat panel with several screws (1/4 Inch socket). Remove this panel to reveal the leads to the bake element.
remove the leads. Then remove the two screws inside the stove (1/4 inch socket) to remove element. The model and serial for the stove should be located by sliding the drawer out at the bottom of the stove on the left side.
You will need this number for the correct element. They run about 20 dollars typically. Hope this helps.

Power outage now microwave won't work

Most likely blew internal fuse. Pull the top/side cover off and check the line fuse. It should be behind the control panel in that area.
