The camera has an internal watch battery soldered to the board, unfortunately, so it can't be replaced, at least easily. This battery would store the settings info, and it basically just wore out on you.

Are you taking the battery out for any reason? Taking the battery out for an extended period of time will sometimes reset the time/date settings.

    No except for charging purpose.
Do I have to change some batteries from inside the camera? Or any other solution?

It is possible then that there is a component damaged on the main circuit board of the unit. A capacitor perhaps. A Capacitor stores electrical charge and discharges when needed. There may be one connected to a memory chip that is not functioning causing the information you input to be erased every time the camera is turned off. This is a repair that would only be accomplished by the manufacturer and nothing as far as I know you could do on your own.

Were you able to resolve this issue? I have the same camera and the same issue for 6 months now. I called SONY and they only thing I can do is send it in and the cost for "possible" repair is $140 - might as well just buy a new camera... please email me at sjillzagrobelny@yahoo.com

Can't change date or time on my new Pentax K2000

Date/time are set at "first use" or through the tools menu.
Remove the batteries.  Leave the camera overnight, this may be enough to lose the current settings and allow setting new date/time.
Press Menu button.
Press right arrow on the 4-way controller to get the Tools (spanner) highlighted.
Press down arrow to get to date (or time).
Press right arrow
Now set to your preferred format.

If this does not work, try changing another item in the Tools menu.  If that change is not accepted, then it's into the dealer.

Sony DSC-W150 power on keeps going to set date/time

The date and time settings are displayed after turning on the camera. Solution
sp.gif sp.gif It is normal for the camera to lose time and date settings if the internal battery is left uncharged for an extended period of time; some cameras will default to the time-setting screen when turned on if this happens. Follow the steps below to resolve this issue.
  1. Turn off the camera.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Insert a fully-charged battery pack into the camera.
    • If the camera is supplied with an AC power adapter, plug the adapter into a working electrical outlet and then connect it to the camera.
  3. Allow the internal battery that retains the time and date information to charge for at least 90 minutes.
  4. After enough time has elapsed to sufficiently charge the internal battery, turn on the camera.
  5. Set the time and date.
  6. Turn off the camera for 30 seconds.
  7. Turn on the camera again.
  8. Check to see if the date and time have been saved.
The troubleshooting steps listed above should resolve your issue. If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required. The Sony® eService Web site at http://eservice.sony.com/ can assist you in obtaining service from a Sony Service Center or locating a Sony Authorized Servicer.

Set date and time comes up every time i turn on camera

Try resetting your camera. In picture taking mode press menu. Go to setup, go up to reset, press right arrow, make sure reset is highlighted and press set.

Then TAKE OUT MEMORY CARD. Go back into menu, go to setup, go up to format, press right arrow and highlight format, press set. Input ur date and time again and then power off and back on. If that doesn't help then you have to send into repairs. 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 2 and they will tell you where to send it.

Casio Exilim Z57 Date and Language set up

OK, here's the fix. This camera has internal flash memory that is used to store settings and can be used for limited picture storage. Its use for saving setting is essential, however. If this gets corrupted then the camera won't save settings. Whoever said to format the internal memory had the right idea.

After much experimentation here's how. Remove your SD memory from the camera and turn it on. This will force it to run on the internal memory only. Run through the time/date/location setup again. It will complain about the memory card. Ignore this and press menu. Under Setup, select format. Choose format memory card and do it. This will format the internal memory. Once it is done, turn the camera off and back on. You'll notice that the problem is gone and it has remembered your last setup.
BTW, my camera is a EX-Z75. Not sure there is a Z57 model.
