I have a toshiba dvd video player & video cassette player.Model sd-kv260 ku. I can longer record tv shows on the vcr side of this unit.THe red light comes on but the programs never get recorded. Thanks,Dano

Outputs from the mini din are as follows. I think the convention is that the row with only two holes goes at the bottom and you number from the bottom and from right to left; so "1" is bottom right; 3 is middle right and 7 is top right
2 Video earth
3 Infra red
4 Audio (no idea whether left or right - guess is right)
5 Audio (guess is left)
6 Power +9V
7 Audio earth (combined for both L and R)
8 LED/standby circuit (for the screens)
9 Power +9V
Also a screen plus earth braid
Some things to note:
Yes there are two power lines and I suspect it is safest to use them both with any new power supply (i.e. not from the DVD)
If you want to use the screens as standalone items you will need to arrange for their standby circuit to be live. As far as I can see this requires around 45mV to keep the screens from dropping back into standyby.
Infrared is not needed - obviously unless you plan to try to use it.
I have it working like this.
