This is a simple algebraic equation in which we have to calculate the value of 'x' using simple operations

7+(9-5x)=5(2-x)

step 1(pen the brackets) 7+9-5x=10-5x

step 2(add 7 and 9) 16-5x=10-5x

now as 5x gets cancelled both the sides of the equal sign therefore no solution of this algebraic equation exist.

To solve a system of equations, there are two algebraic ways to solve them, one is by substitution, while the other is elimination.

1) 2a + 3b + 5 = 0

2) 2a + 4b + 10 = 0

-----------------------

-b -5 = 0 (subtract 2 from 1)

+b-b-5 = b

-5 = b

Substitute into 1) to solve for a.

2a + 3(-5) + 5 = 0

2a -15 + 5 = 0

2a -10 = 0

2a -10 + 10 = 10

2a = 10

---- ----

2 2

a=5

Substitute into 2) to check if we did it correctly.

2(5) + 4(-5) + 10 = 0

10 -20 + 10 = 0

0=0

Good luck.

(-9/3)x=-2

First simplify -9/3 to -3 : -3x=-2

Divide by -3.

x=-2/-3=2/3

With algebra you are learning problem solving-that is the process of problem solving using rules and equations. The best way to learn it is to shut out all distraction and work at it. If there is something you don't understand you may have to go back to the beginning and learn all the principals and rules that you don't understand- Algebra can be a very hard subject but it can be concord with persistence.

Start by using the distributive property to expand the term 5(I-31)=5*I-5*31=5*I-155.

Rewrite the equation as 5*I+5*I-155=55

Combine the terms with I, this yields 10*I-155=55

Add 155 to both sides of the equation 10*I-155+155=55+155

you now get 10*I=210

Divide both sides of the equation by 10

(10*I)/10=210/10

Cancel the 10's on the left and divide 210 by 10 to get 21

Thus I=21

Basically you use the priority order of operations BEDMAS backwards

Your scientific calculator is unable to solve complex equation with complex coefficients. You should try to solve by hand directly using the quadratic formula or by factoring the polynomial in z

failing that, another way would be to set z=x+iy, substitute this for z, carry out the algebra and try to separate real and imaginary parts. But your two equations will constitute a system of two quadratic equations. I am not aware of any general method to solve coupled nonlinear equations.

Good luck.

Start by combining like terms on each side of the equation.

Remember, when working with variables the real numbers always come last in the equation(i.e. 5+x-7=x+5-7)

Once you have this completed move all variables to one side and all whole numbers to the other side. Solve from there.

This calculator cannot manipulate algebraic expressions. You can enter an expression and generate a table of values. You can enter an equation in one unknown and solve it. But you cannot do algebra.

You would need a calculator that has a Computer Algebra System (Algebra FX 2.0, or ClassPad 300/330). Sorry.

Not with that calculator. You can use Wolfram Alpha to solve most equations very quickly: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=x^2+-+3x+-+4+%3D+0

You can even use it to solve systems of equations: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=2x+%2B+3y+%3D+5%2C+4x+-+3y+%3D+1

Enjoy.

Hello,

Sorry this calculator cannot solve equations. It does not have the program. It does not know how to do those things. However it can calculate.**Before you can use the calculator you must prepare all yourself. **When you have solved the problem, you ask the calculator to compute the value of what you found.

Let us clean the equation a bit

2(x-4) -5x=-5

Get rid of the parentheses 2(x-4) becomes 2x-2*4=2x-8 .Put that result where it was in equation

2x-8 -5x=-5

Group together the terms that have x in them 2x-5x=-3x

Then

2x-8-5x=-5, becomes -3x-8=-5

You want to isolate the term with x (have it on one side, and the others on the other side) -3x= -5 -(-8)= -5+8 =3.

The equation becomes

-3x=3 Thus**-x=3/3=1 and x=-1.**

**In general you would have obtained x= (some number/some other number) and that is where the calculator would intervene.**

Hope it helps.
