Not really it could also be the cable, or the software may be having problems communicating with the hardware. one way to check this is if you can ran a checkdisk on the card. once its plug in you can right click on the card in my computer then properties then tools and try error checking or checkdisk. or if your using a software try to reinstall it. or try another usb port when using it with the camera. or try another cable if still persist.
hope that helps, please rate

thanks Ragoney. I'll try doing a checkdisk - but I don't think that's it. During an upload session it is only a few videos that don't upload - all the others and the pictures come through fine so I would think that if it was the software or the cable that none would upload.

What does out of memory message mean on my nikon coolpix camera?

You have two questions here. Out of memory could mean that your memory card is full and you cannot take any additional pictures until you either replace the card with a new one, or delete or reformat the card you have in it. It could also mean that your card is "locked". Check for the little toggle switch on the side of the card to be sure it is in the "unlocked" position. Or it could mean that you do NOT have a memory card in the camera at all and you're using the very small internal memory your camera comes with (it usually will only hold about 4-5 images. If this is the case, put an external memory card in the camera.

The second part of the question deals with uploading to your computer. There are a whole host of reasons that can cause this. Here are a few.
1. Your software is configured incorrectly. It might be set for only a certain type of image (jpg, RAW, TIFF). It might be set to accept duplicate images and your images are already uploaded (somewhere on the machine).
2. It might be that your cord or connection is defective.
3. It might be that the computer is trying to find the external memory card and you don't have one.
4. You software might be looking for videos instead of images. Check your software configuration to be sure its set for image upload.
5. Be sure your battery is fresh. Some cameras will not upload with a weak battery.
6. The camera or software could be defective.

Computer won't upload pictures from camera

You neglected to specify the make and model of your camera, so I'm going to assume it uses a memory card of some type.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Most recent pics won't upload- you can see them on the camera screen but won't upload

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device oran external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. Youcan copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off yourmemory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing anyprograms.

HD videos won't upload to computer?

How are you trying the upload? Is your camera connected via USB or are you using a card reader? What program(s) are you using?
You should be able to do the upload by using a card reader and the operating system's file explorer to copy the file.

I cannot upload pictures/ videos from my PNY 8GB memory stick.

The newer large capacity cards in cameras designed for smaller capacity cards seem to have trouble interfacing with our computers. The best best is to get a high speed firewire memory card reader and attach it directly to your computer.
This should allow your computer to recognize your card and also allow you quicker downloads.

Not sure what it means w/the memory card is full. What shoild I do to use camera now?

Hey mrstena,
What this message means if the memory card you are using has no more space on it to record new images to it. To fix this you need to upload the images on the memory card to a computer either using a USB cord that connects the camera to the computer, or getting a card reader that supports your type of memory card and connect the memory card directly to the computer with the card reader. After you have uploaded your images you should format the memory card in the camera, which will erase all the images on the memory card and you should then be able to take more images. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan
