  • hotrodpony Aug 03, 2008

all the settings should have remained the same

  • hotrodpony Aug 03, 2008

but the picture was perfect the night before the bulb blew, how could that warrent a color wheel change?

  • hotrodpony Aug 03, 2008

the blurring is more like around the objects that are moving, thats why i thought it may be some kind of focus problem.

all the colors are fine ,just not the crisp picture it was before i changed the lamp, very frustrating. i dont want to buy something i don't need,

It is not a matter of settings, when is dark or blurred around the edges is the color wheel.

only, when it is mirrors or a problem with the light tunnel, you get shadows not blurred areas, if colors are more intense in blurred areas is wheel. If you get shadows is probably something in the light tunnel.

Why is picture blurry?

Sounds like a misalignment problem. the lens has a specific optical plane the DLP chip must be positioned at in order to provide the proper focus on the screen. Try repositioning the board or adjusting the lens to clear up the fuzzy picture. Regards.

Samsung HL-R5688W DLP TV Screen Burn

I don't know where you got the information that burning could not happen but that is completely wrong. If it is a monitor, tube tv, LCD/LED, DLP or any other kind of viewing device it can burn. With that out of the way if the lamp warning is coming on then it is time to replace it but your image problems are deeper than that. The screen appears to be separating. By that I mean there are three layers and sometimes more depending on the manufacturer that display color. Think of it like saran wrap laired on top of each other. As they get old or of poor quality they start to separate and show some pretty funky imaging. Without the TV in my shop I most certainly cannot 100 percent say for sure that this is it but I would strongly consider this as not fixable.

Recently replaced blown lamp for 50HM67 50 inch tv. Now have picture but clarity is off. Picture / screen words are very blurry. Toshiba referred a local repair company who mentioned that the problem...

If the picture was good before the lamp blew, there might be dust/splatter on the window in front of the lamp. Pull out the lamp assembly and look at the small square glass window that the light shines into. It should be clear and clean. If it is not, clean it gently with isoprophonol alcohol or screen cleaner.
By the way, there is no such thing as convergence adjustment on DLP TVs.

Sony KP-61HS10 Rear projection TV blurry /shadows at first start

Sounds like the convergence ic's need to be replaced or resoldered. Sometimes it can be a microfuse if you are lucky. But my question is if you hit the focus button up front does it make it thru the auto convergence? Let me know. Have a good one.
