Question about Creative Labs Zen Touch MP3 Player

Zen Touch take apart

My Zen Touch player has been in recovery mode since I sold it on eBay in perfect condition and it came back in recovery mode. I have always been great about my gear so I'm thinking of trying your solution of opening it up. Any special link I can go to to do this? I've replaced the keypad on my Palm Treo 680 so I'm pretty confident. But there were great step-by-step directions on the site that helped me get it back together without a scratch.

My Creative Zen Touch is frozen. When I hold down the "Menu" button, the screen does not change. When I connect to the computer and attempt to run Creative Mediasource Organizer, I get a message that the...

I would run the recovery console from the player itself. Make sure the Touch's power supply is plugged in (and unplugged from a PC) then to access the recovery mode of the Touch, hold down the Play/Pause button while inserting a straightened paper clip into the reset hole on your player, give it about five seconds then remove the paper clip.
Next, keep on holding the Play/Pause button until the Rescue Mode screen appears. After you see the rescue mode menu, you can release the play/pause button.
I would try a "clean up" first, as this is less intrusive and will not erase data.

Creative Zen Touch stuck in "recovery mode"

Hi! I think you should try this (i've already tried it and it works):
1- Unplug your Zen from your Computer.
2-Turn off your Zen (if you can't do it, press the "Reset" button)
3- BEFORE turning on your Zen, press your "Play" button and hold it while you turn on.
4-When a format menu appears, select the "Format All" option (you'll loose all your Zen data).
5-When the format menu reapears, select the "Reboot" option and listo! You have your Zen as new and should not have problem. Good luck!
