Question about Mitsubishi WS-65809 65" Rear Projection Television
Try turning the converter box sound all the way down then turn tv sound to 1/2 then turn up converter box sound to a comfortable level.. mine had a muffled sound until i did this

This tv isn't known for sound problems. First thing to do is to go to the cable box and push the volume up button on the box if there is one. Next thing to do is to try another device that has a hdmi output like a dvd or game system in place of the cable box. My guess is that this muffled sound is somehow caused by the cable converter box. You can try to reboot the box by unplugging the power for 30 seconds, then plugging it back in. If all else fails, you can call the cable or satellite service and have them change the converter box. Good luck, Russmann.
