Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description...
you likely have a faulty inlet water valve.

The valve # is 8182862 and varies in pricing around $40 - $75...double check with your specific model number when inquiring.

It should be available at most brick and mortar appliance part locations or if you prefer on-line shopping try "searspartsdirect.com" "repairclinic.com" or "appliancepartspros.com" to name a few.

To swap out the valve simply follow these steps...

**Unplug the unit from the wall before attempting any repairs suggested here...safety first**

1) turn off the water and unfasten the hot & cold fill hoses going to the washer.

2) remove the three screws along the back of the top panel and then slide the top panel back slightly and pull up. The panel should lift away.

3) in the left rear corner ( when observing from the front of the washer )you should now see the valve.

4) remove the wires, carefully the harness has little release tabs which must be bent back slightly to pull the wire & harness off.

5) remove the hose to the dispenser assembly, a pair of pliers or vise-grips works well here.

6) remove the screw on the outside back wall of the washer and pull the valve out, voila !

Reverse order to put the new one in "voila", and good job. You potentially saved yourself $200 or more for parts and labour.

Hope this answers your question but more importantly solves your problem.

Thanks for choosing FixYa for your repair solutions today. Let me know if you need further assistance.
Please take a moment and rate the solution provided for you as well as a testimony if you feel it warranted. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Open the door

This is either blocked pump, pressure chamber or a heater fault. The door will not open if there is excess water in the drum (check filter) or if the pressure switch does not drop out to indicate drum is empty (pressure chamber blocked). If the unit does not heat during the cycle the unit will time out and you have 1 min left on display (heater short or open circuit). Probably not a PCB fault but a specific component. Turn the machine off at the mains for a minute and then select a cycle but don't start the machine, the door should opne after a minute or two if the fault is not one of the first two mentioned above. There is a slight possibility that it is the door lock itself.
Hope this helps

Samsung WF337 Door will not opn FL

The "FL" code indicates that the washer failed to lock the door, which would prevent the machine from running. If this happens again, close the door tightly and restart the cycle.

After a wash cycle, there is water sitting in the gasket around the door. This water smells after a few days. What is to be done?

Make sure the washer sits level front to back and side to side. Wipe away any water and leave the door ajar to let the inside dry out. If the whole washer insides smell, run an empty cycle with hot water, detergent, and baking soda to refresh. Hope this helps!

My Kenmore Elite smells like mold!

Run a cycle ,no clothes in, with about 3 cups/ 750 ml of bleach in it. How? put a fil a plisticbag with the bleach and set it in the washer. It will tip up when you start the cycle. You should end up with a clean washer and clean empty bag.

Door locked and will not open. i ran an empty cycle to see if that would work and it doesn't.....thanks! Margit

IF water is left in machine then door wont unlock, check pump, run drain cycle. If pump runs but doesnt remove water, then check filter at bottom (small door on bottom front) water will come out when this is done. If washer is completely empty of water and door locked then you may access lock release tab from bottom or reaching down from top to lock asm. Then check lock

You need to get access behind the front panel, taking the top panel off is probably best. Then you can see the the door release mechanism and release it.

Door will not unlock need to get clothes out

whooaaa put down the ha\mmer, it wont open if theres too much water in unit. there is a manual release, but you have to remove the lower service panel to reach it.after removing the panel youll need to stick your hand up along side the front panel right hand side. the lowest ponit of the door latch/lock assy has a quarter sized handle that youll need to pull to relesae the door mechinism., WARNING if there is water visble through the door and you open it you will get wet...before trying the manual release option turn off the water supply and set the machine for drain/spin cycle and see if the drain pump turns on to release enough water to opne the door on its own,if the drain pumps only humms and doenst drain, then theres the issue you have something stuck in the drain pump. in which casse youll need to remove the lower panel and free the clog anyway.

Can't Open the Washer Door---Our Clothes are held Hoatage

Check and ensure that the tubes and passages to the water level pressure sensor are not blocked by caked detergent, lint , etc.
( this may have caused the water overflow in the first place)
clean up the internal parts that are wetted by the overflow.

clean the door lock mechanism. ( this normally works on a temperature delay mechanism, if cleaning does not work, replace)

all the above done with the power unplugged and water inlets unplugged , of course
