Question about Bosch Nexxt Premium WFMC6400UC Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Hi; My WFMC6400SUC washer gives out a unusual noise, noticed three times while using it recently. It sounds like something metal, loosely moving inside the machine and toward the back of it, and it is related to the movement of the drum. The noise is most prominent when the washer is loaded with more water, i.e. during the Extra rinse: foam period. It seems get worse over time. I am so happy to find this forum and I am looking forward to your reply. it will be very helpful if you provide a phone number that I can call a technician in person or have someone to come and have a investigation. I live in north suburb of Chicago (Palatine). Thank you very much. Hong

If you turn the drum by hand and its noisy then yes, something could be in her or could be a bearing fault,if its not noisy then could be the pump when its running,in which case try removing /cleaning the filter a the front R/H side....Good luck, from Scotland

It's not noisy when I turned the drum by hand. I opened the R/H round window and removed 3 corns, 4 hair clips and an arch-shaped metal wire. The wire is hard, smooth and measured 7.5 in. in it's total length (if stretched straight) ). Really hard to believe it is from any of the pockets on cloth. Did not see any filter like thing within the window, only a plastic frame which I cleaned. When washer running again, the noise is reduced a little bit but still there, more prominent in the location toward left, upper and back. I am happy the debri were removed from the pump area. now my question is: what is the arch-shaped wire? Does it belong to the machine itself and been broken down from somewhere? When you say filter do you mean the gray plastic frame in that window or something I missed. Please help. Thanks, Hong

Have a 2006 titan; noticed excess condensation and some white smoke after it was warm; also went I accelerate it sounds like a "metal rattle"(?) doesn't make that sound when at an idle...any suggestions?...

The condensation and white smoke could just be excess moisture that can build up in the muffler when the vehicles isn't used for a while or has been doing only short runs (less than 25-30 miles).. Keep an eye on the coolant level, and if it stays good then there isn't much to worry form that. As far as the "metal rattle" on acceleration, this could be what is known as "octane ping". It means that the engine is knocking a bit from fuel that isn't giving it enough octane. Cheap gas and occasional blending errors can cause this. Try running a tankful of mid-grade fuel next time. IF the noise goes away, you've found the culprit. Octane ping doesn't really hurt the engine, but it is annoying. You may be able to still use regular grade fuel, but might have to change the brand to find one that the truck likes better.

2001 Gibson Washing Machine - Front Loader

Hi,

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Kenmore model 2495-4301. When closing the lid to begin any cycle, there's a metal clicking sound coming from the area of the bottom. The agitator will not move in any cycle. Just that clicking sound..

I had a similar problem with my washer. It was clicking, but the agitator was moving fine. The clicking was coming from the centrifugal switch. After checking the capacitor I was about the give up and call a repair tech. Then I noticed the Speed Selector was set between Delicate and Normal. I moved the selector to a proper position and the washer stopped making the clicking noise and is working correctly.

Whirlpool washer model: MBF2254HEW. Plastic agitator makes unusual noise when agitating in wash and rinse cycle. It feels loose and wobbly.

Hi,

It sounds like something has gotten lodged in the water pump. Since the pump is directly driven by the motor, the pump is always turning in the wash & spin cycles. The pump is attached to the motor and turns the entire time the motor is running.
Other possibilities would be the motor or transmission.
However, you need technician's help to access the pump.

Hope this helps.

Please feel free to ask further queries.

Loud noise during washing/rinsing cycles

I just replaced the bearings on my Front loader Maytag MAH5500B, as it sounded like a freight train during the spin cycle. The bearing replacement fixed the train problem.

NEW PROBLEM NOW: It's been about a month now since the bearing job and now something is clicking/binding when you spin the back belt wheel. I have taken the belt off and carefully move the wheel and I still get this clicking noise. It sounds as if someone is hitting the plastic drum that the tub is surrounded by. I really doubt it's the bearings this soon, as the sound is not the same! No leaks or metal shavings to speak of or rubbing of the belt wheel.

Seems like it's more noticeable during the wash/rinse cycles then the spin.

Can anyone help.???

Gear link or box problem

Sounds like a piece of linkage came loose. If it were an internal tranny problem, doubtful that the stick would be loose. Examine all linkage for something very obvious.

Unusual noise

Not really a "solution" but this may move you a step closer to one...Check vacuum operated servo blend motors on the heater box. I would disconnect and plug the vacuum supply line to the dash controls (on the engine side of firewall) and drive it for a while. Obviously, if it's cold out you may not want to do this till summer because heat will not work, but it's worth a try, just to get a location on the problem isolated without taking the entire car apart!!

Fridge makes howling noise

Hi there!

Check at the back for any objects or packets that are in contact with a fan. This often causes unusual noises.

See if you can identify the source of the noise, ao I can help further.

Thanks.
