Hello, I am connecting to a remote computer with WinXp which has a logitech webcam installed.I am doing a Quick capture, but after that the computer becomes very slow and kind of hangs. So I am able to see the picture continuously getting captured, but I am not able to take a photo and store it as mouse input are not getting accepted. Is there a way to start the quick capture and take a photo using the cmd line.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

Is there a way that I can configure the cam to take and store a photo by default, without having to click on the "Take photo" button.

Welcome to Fixya

I am afraid there is no way for you to take pictures using the command line. You need to use the Quick capture to take pictures. Try to uninstall quick capture and reinstall it again. Restart the computer first after reinstalling quick capture.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Not taking pictures

Step 1:
A webcam supplements communication with family and friends. It's often used for video chatting. But you could use your webcam to take pictures, as well.

Make sure your webcam is connected to the USB port of your computer, installed appropriately, and the computer is on and ready. Navigate to the "Start" menu and type "webcam" (without quotes) in the Search field. If you've previously installed webcam software, the program should appear in the search results. Double-click the selection to launch the webcam application. From the webcam dialog, select the "Quick Capture" icon (the example is for Logitech software, but other applications have similar functions with different names). Position the camera and person or object that you want to photo capture. Select the desired resolution from the drop-down menu. Click "Take Photo" to take a photograph. Browse to the picture destination to view your photo. Now that your photo is stored on your computer, you can email or print it.

The image from logitech E2500 qickcam is split into 4 vertically squashed images. It was installed from the CD that came with it. Any solutions welcome please. from Peter

Check you have no 'Fun Filters' selected - its the only place I have seen 4 split images on my Logi webcam
It will be within the 'Video Effects' menu ( 2 theatre masks )
Start your cam in 'Quick Capture' first ( 2 film frames with 1 head and shoulder pic )

Failing that I suggest you re-install from the website

Visit the Logitech website and browse the photo gallery for your model and click on the photo to navigate to the support page.
Note - Older models on page 2 - look for the link at the bottom right of page 1 and click on it "Still can't find your product?"

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/405/&cl=us,en?prodcrid=405

In addition to the Logitech installer you will need to download Microsoft DirectX 9 or later to support your webcam

Procedure
Close all programs while uninstalling - downloading and uploading software
Disconnect your webcam
Uninstall the current webcam software on your computer
Restart computer
Download the Installation package from Logitech
Run the installer and choose your options - You may not want Logitech Chat but the Desktop icon for the webcam toolbar is a must.
Connect your webcam when prompted.

The quality is very blury

Try adjusting the focus ring around the lens - rotate to focus
Make sure your USB is 2.0
Start your webcam in the Quick Capture menu and then open the Settings menu on the Logitech toolbar ( dashboard )
Check you have Microsoft DirectX loaded on your pc
If all fails re-install the software

Visit the Logitech website and browse the photo gallery for your model and click on the photo to navigate to the support page.

Webcam is not showing any video at all!

Connect your webcam
Launch the logitech webcam toolbar from your desktop or if you chose not to install the shortcut - launch it from "All programs" or from your C drive - Programs and files.

Open the Quick Capture menu (2 film frames pic)
Check your image here
If it shows white - you have a logitech/computer software problem
If its OK you have failed to configure it correctly to whatever program you are using it in.

Did you install the support software required to run Logitech cameras - Directx 10 ?

My webcam zoomed in for some reason how do I zoom out?

Connect your webcam
Launch the Logitech toolbar from your desktop shortcut or from 'All programs' > Logitech > Logitech webcam software (folder) > Logitech webcam software (webcam icon)
With the toolbar launched - click on the 'Quick Capture' menu ( 2 photo frames picture) and your webcam will start
With the webcam still running click on the 'Settings' menu (2 gear wheels)
Your zoom control will be easily seen and adjustable by ramping the slider up or down.
