SOURCE: Problem with IPod Nano Model A1137

Try holding the menu button and center button at the same time. this should reset the ipod completely. Its a force power up and power down similar to Zapping your PRAM on a computer. this should reset the configurations
Hopefully that helps

Have you already reset the iPod? (Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step. Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.)
If this failed I would suggest going to: http://fixyouripod.weebly.com/
and view the free video's about resolving this kind of issue. If after that the issue is still not resolved, Please do let me know. :)

How to Fix a Frozen IPod Nano

iPod Nanos will sometimes freeze up, sticking on one screen or not even turning on at all. If your nano is locking up, there are a few things you can try to get it working again.

1. Turn off the hold button. First of all, make sure that that wasn't the problem--don't worry, we've all done dumber stuff.

2. Cold boot. Assuming that wasn't the problem, flick the hold button on and off a few times, and then make sure it's off. Hold down the Menu button and the middle button button for about 15 seconds; this should reset the iPod nano, which may fix the issue. Make sure that the iPod nano is fully charged before attempting this.

3. Recharge. If that didn't work at all, try plugging the iPod nano into the USB port of a computer, using the adapter that came with it. Be sure to plug directly into the computer, and not through a USB hub. The USB needs to provide adequate power for the iPod nano to function, and it may be unable to do so through a hub. The iPod nano should be recognized by the computer; once it is, you simply need to safely disconnect it in iTunes, and it should be functional. If it doesn't show up on the computer at all, give it about 20 minutes, leaving the iPod nano connected to the computer, as the nano may be under-charged, which requires a few minutes to re-charge. If it's still not working, try plugging the iPod nano into a different computer.

4. Try again. If the Menu + Middle Button fix seemed to work, but just cycled the nano back to one of its starting screens (including the "do not disconnect" or the "loading Apple logo" screen), try that fix again. If it still doesn't work, try to charge it for a while, and then try it once more.

When my ipod is turned on,it shows an hour glass in blue screen

Not knowing what you have tried I would suggest you follow the iPod troubleshooting guide at Apple.com . The steps get progressively more severe feel free to skip any of the ones that you've already tried.
If it's a software and not a hardware issue the restore process should fix any software problem. Be aware though that all data on your iPod will be lost and will have to be put onto your iPod again from your computer which can take a while.

Turn on the MP4 player and let the battery go all the way dead. Plug it back into a computer and mine reset.

Is it detected in itunes? You're supposed to press menu & ok button only after the following steps- 1.turn off your ipod if its on. 2.slide the hold button on and off a couple of times and then when hold is in off position, press and hold centre and menu buttons till a silver apple appears on screen.then connect to itunes and restore.

Hi,
First, you should use itunes for you iPod. I know that there are other programs that can let you load music on it, but you should use iTune, Really.

1. You should first download iTunes. It is free.

2. Next. Load your music into iTunes. Do all of this BEFORE you plug your iPod into the computer.

3. Connect your iPod to the computer. Use a fast USB port. These are usually located on the back of the computer.

4. Your iPod should appear in the iTune pane on the left side. You should be able to see a set of 'tabs' that you can click. The first one is about your iPod.

5. At this point, you can click on the music tab to tell the computer to load what to load into the iPod. Click 'sync' to load your music.

6. When the syncing is complete, you will see that notice above in iTunes. Click the arrow next to the iPod picture in the iTunes pane to discharge the iPod. The iPod picture will disappear. Make sure that you also safely release the iPod in the task bar at the bottom of the computer. You will need to click on a green icon that looks like a plug and select 'safely remove storage device'. Wait until the computer tells you it is safe to disconnect it. Then disconnect.

Hope that helps.
