One song that I want to play on my mp3 player keep coming up "Format Error". Why is ... You can't, unless you find out WHAT format it is, and install a player that is compatible with THAT format. Apparently, you are trying to play a file that IS NOT MP3. m. 0 ... #2 doesn't really happen often, but it can happen.

I have a dvd+r stuck in my delldesktop tower

shutdown the computer. There should be a small hole (tiny pinhole) on the front panel of the DVD player. Unravel a paper clip and insert it into the hole. Keep pressing and it will manually eject the DVD player tray. Hopefully you'll be able to get access to the DVD and remove it.

My emachine tower won't turn on . I try un plugging it and plugging back and it doesn't work. Could it be that there something wrong with the motherboard or the hardrive?

> won't turn on

Remove the side-panel, and then press the ON button.
Do any fans start to turn? Feel any air coming out of the back of the power-supply?
Does pressing the button open/close the CD/DVD tray?
If not, then your power-supply has "blown", and must be replaced.

If the fans do turn, and the tray opens, but nothing happens on the screen,
e.g., no "splash" screen, nor any brief white-text "hardware-summary" appears,
then it's either the CPU or the motherboard which is the problem.

If you see the "splash" screen, or that "summary" screen, but Windows does not start to load, then the disk-drive either is not getting any power, or its "data" cable is not connected, or the disk-drive itself has "died".

It's time to take it to a qualified technician, for professional trouble-shooting.

Trying to format the hard drive but can not find device drivers or partitions

Hi,

If you have access to another computer, download Gparted BootDisk

This will boot on any system and allow the format assuming the hard drive is actually working

ERROR WITH HARDRIVE

Hit the power button. By "Hit" i mean switch it off at the back of the machine and turn it back on again. If your hard drive still gives errors, try formatting it.

Formatting my WD external hardrive

Hi, In computer terms, formatting a hardrive is the process of preparing/setting the different areas (for read/write) of the harddrive and keeping a list of the addresses. This way the computer would know what data went with what and to where in the HD. Most if not all new HDs are not formatted (prepared) for computer use but are detectable by the PC. Formatting not only makes the HD recognizable, it is now usable. By formatting, the PC also erases any and all references to the existing data on the HD. After being erased and prepared, it also checked for any possible errors. Hope this be of some idea/help. Good luck and kind regards.
