I have had the same problem with 2 "64" consoles. This last one I used about 3 years ago and then packed it up and pulled it back out and nothing... Got a red light in front for power but no video. Not even a flicker on the screen as if it was making an attempt. Tried 3 different "64" video cables... Nothing.

I have the same problem. Same setup and everything, only one difference. The plastic covering to the expansion pack is gone and the bay is empty. I know you dont need to have an expansion pak in there to have the unit work but is there suppose to be something in there like a dumby cartridge or something? Is that why mine isn't working? It powers up, I have tired it on my hdtv and my regular tube ones as well. Nothing. The cords are in fine shape as well. (RCA style connectors). Any ideas??

My Nintendo 64 was in the attic 4 a few years. My mom and I took it down 2day and tried to play a game. The light on the bottom of the N64 turned red and the screen is black.

i pluged ever thing in and check the channel then turn on the 64 but nothing happen

i have a problem that when i connect my nintendo 64, i can't seem to find a channel that will accept the console. there are plenty of other channels found but not the console channel. i have tried channel tuning, programme setting, the lot but the nintendo will not be accepted. i think i may need a special code or something so my t.v. will accept the game. if this is so, do you know where i can find one? if you have any other suggestions, i would very much appreciate your advice.

Same problem with mine, i figured out that if certain parts inside the n64 are damaged or worn, it will affect the display of the game

Can I connect my Nintendo to my Cable Box, my DVD, or my VCP (video cassette player)?
Your Nintendo system requires AV inputs to work. These products do not provide inputs. Connecting to them is not possible. Unless you get a blue plug for it to work then with the connection then.

Hi I'm having a problem with my Nintendo 64, it won't play the game. I just recently bought Super Mario 64 at a yard sale, and when i got home it doesn't work. I unplug and plug everything,...

Well It might be the gamepack but the only way to test it out is to try it one a different N64 console to see if you have any luck if it works somewheres else than your N64 console has an internal problem of it 0 luck on something else than Its a fake gamepack because the old consoles will reject fake game packs then.

My old Nintendo 64 console is not turning on. Sometimes I get the light on for a few seconds then it goes. I have changed plug, fuses etc. Any hope?

good day...well since you have it for a long time now...and you have replace the fuse and plug... why not replace the electrolytic type capacitor in the power supply...esp. if you notice the bloated one.. good day

I just recently bought a nintendo 64 off of ebay and when i plugged it in it doesn't work :( i think everything is plugged in right but the red light on the front of the console isn't on...does that mean...

Check the power supply and try a known good PSU if you can get one. Your unit probably has a bad PSU. If the PSU is ok, the motherboard of the console is broken.

My nintendo 64 won't work. The red light goes on but nothing happens on the tv screen, it just stays blue. :/ wtf should I do? I've already blew on everything I can think of and wiggled the cartridge...

Well its a power supply failure symptom a blue screen is then. when games or other applications are using the computer steadily, it will turn off or I get a blue screen.

Hi... my son has been enjoying playing my Nintendo 64...unfortunately it no longer swithces on...(no power)... has it died or can this problem be repaired?

Well it might just be the fact that it has died on you now so it needs a new motherboard. The motherboard controllers everything that consoles can do so when the main part goes bad thats not good then. I fix dead consoles buy installing a new motherboard.

Nintendo 64 will not turn on

Take everything out. Chords, games, and jumper/expansion pak.
Turn it on for 10 seconds.
Turn it off.
Blow into the game cartridge and the cartridge slot.
Plug everything back in except for power.
Turn on for 10 seconds.
Turn off.
Plug power in.
It should work now.
