Question about Yahoo Mail

I cannot send, forward or reply to any of my emails, I have reported this problem 3 times already, all I get is an automated response to say they receive my email and will attend to the problem, that was about 3 days ago, the turnaround period being 24 hours, well no one has helped me so far and I have been a customer with Yahoo for many years, this is very frustrating and I am an elderly lady, maybe that is why they are not helping me. Change the time Zone in the Yahoo Options to the one you are using. Options usually availabe on the top right corner. Kindly get back if for any clarifications

You probably need to check your time zone settings in Yahoo...

on the upper right-hand corner just above your yahoo mail inbox, you'll see an options link... select mail options.

when you get to that page, click on 'accounts' in the left-hand menu, and once in that page, click on add or edit an account.

in this next page, click on account information, you may be prompted for your password before continuing....

once you get in there... look for 'Time Zone' and see if yours isn't some hours ahead of what it should be.... if so, click on the edit link for that section, and change this to your correct time zone.

that should do the trick!

Yahoo Mail has 2 modes: 1.Classic mode and 2.Standard mode I guess you're in standard mode,I suggest you switch to classic mode, I hope it could help you

i think your javascript support is turned of from your browser. if you use Internet Explorer,


Go to "View -> Internet Options -> Security tab
Select "Custom" and click on the "Settings..." button
To enable: make sure "Enable" is selected under "Active scripting"
To disable: make sure "Disable" is selected under "Active scripting"

For FireFox
Go to "Tools" -> "Options"
Go to "Content" tab and "Enable JavaScript"

For Opera
Go to "Tools" -> "Preferences"
Go to "Advanced" tab -> "Content" and "Enable JavaScript"

alot of the times, just going into internet options and setting everything to default, and clearing the cookies and files works about 50% of the time.

This is possibly a yahoo issue. If you use yahoo thru ATT, you can call ATT for support and they will escalate any valid issues to yahoo for you.

Their phone number is 1-877-722-3755

ask for tech support at the prompt

they can remote on your computer to see if it is a java issue or whatever

if they can replicate it on their computer also, they will create a yahoo trouble ticket and give you thier member service number. Yahoo resolves 85% of these within 48 hrs.

If they cant replicate it, then they will consider it a pc issue and refer you to connect tech or to best buy's geek squad.

Personally, I would also try sending emails in safemode, If you can do it in safemode, and not in reg mode, it is definately PC related.

To get to safemode, turn your computer off and when you turn it back on, tap the F8 button until you get an advanced screen. Pick safemode with networking with the arrow keys. Log in, click yes when it tells you you're running in safemode, and then when your on your desktop, which will look alot differnt, black background with big icons, click on internet explorer and go to mail.yahoo.com and see if it works now, if it does, like i said, its pc related. If it still cant, call ATT's support if you have thier DSL or U-Verse

What browser do you use?
Have you tried to use any other browsers, or deleting the cache / cookies for that browser? Even specifically just twitter's cookies may fix this.

I receive emails on my mac and some I forward to friends,but their unable to open them youtube etc and ask I send again but when I try I cannot open either. Please Help


Hi Richard. Thers a good chance you have mail preferences setup to compose new emails in "plain text". And/Or, "Use the same message format as the original message", meaning if you reply to someone who sent you an email that is in Rich Text Format, then your reply will be in Rich Text Format but, if they send you an email in Plain Text Format, then your reply, and possibly any forwarding will be sent in Plain Text also.

For website addresses to be "clickable links" in mail, you need to ensure all emails you send, forward, or reply are in Rich Text Format.
go to Mail... Preferences... then select the Composing tab and ensure Message Format is set to "Rich Text".
Further below in the same tab you will see "Responding" and a tick box for Use the same message format as the original message (Respond using Rich or Plain Text).
If you always want to respond or forward in Rich Text only and every time, then deselect that option.
All links should work and be clickable from then onwards.

You can highlight a non working website link in the email body, right click, then select "Link" then "Add Link" to make it clickable but, you will receive a notification about converting this message to rich text format?"

Basically, the links will not be clickable if you are setup to compose new emails in Plain Text. Nor will any replies or forwards you send that are changing to Plain Text to match the format received by you from others.
Always end, reply and forward in Rich Text Format

Unable to compose, reply, or forward in Yahoo Mail for the last 2-3 days


The inability to send, reply, or forward emails could be from a program that was installed on your computer that is now preventing the Yahoo! Mail Rich Text toolbar from launching properly. Try switching from "Rich Text" compose mode to "Plain Text" as a work around:
  1. Sign in to your Yahoo! Mail account.
  2. Click the New button to start a new email.
  3. To the far right of the "Subject" line click the "Plain Text link.
  4. Compose and send your email.
To make "Plain Text" your default when replying or forwarding, do this:
  1. Sign in to your Yahoo! Mail account.
  2. Click "Options," then select "More Options" from the pull down arrow in the upper right corner of your Mail page.
  3. Select "General" from the list of options on the left side of the page.
  4. Check the box next to; When replying & forwarding Mark original message with > (plain text only).
  5. Click the "Save Changes" button in the upper left corner.

Friends are routed to noreply@facebook.com, what does that mean?


noreply@facebook.com is generally used by facebook as an email address to send you emails about notifications like when people post on your wall etc.
its called noreply because its an automated email address which you shouldnt reply too. I.E: a computer is sending you the email not a human so if you replied to the email then you would not get a response.

I can not send,reply or forward e-mail on yahoo.com....


I'm not sure but you may have to contact Yahoo customer service for this issue via the phone.
If you are in the new mail client facing you may have to click the "options" in blue in the upper right corner of the email client facing and change to the
"Classic view" then go to the yahoo customer service chat and give your issue there.
I seems they have a server routing issue if you can't send, reply or forward emails. This could also be due to emails settings that having been change on your account by which the support tech has to check to see if it is on the server side and then give you direction on how to reset you acct information.

The Reply button should be above the message you want to reply to. There should be a row of buttons: [Delete] [Reply] [Forward] [More...]
The same buttons appear below the message too.

Some unknown mails to unknown address forwarded from my account


I recommend you to delete it it look like virus whenever you receive an e-mail that you dont recognice I recommend you to delete it if you don't your computer will start acting slower due to the virus.

Outlook 2007 will not send emails when forwarding or replying but it will in a new email.


go to tools, option, mail setup, send and receive make sure the send imemdiatly when connect is checked.
back out the outlook and click on send and receive on the tool bar.
you might have to click on send/reciver on the tool bar few times in order for the porgram to configure what you want.
