Hello, it sounds like the laser is faulty in the cd player. This is a very common fault with all cd players, the lasers become weak and are unable to read the discs. You will need to replace the player or get it repaired. I hope I have been of service.

most common cause is a dirty or bad optical pickup in the unit, it may be able to be cleaned but more common is the pickup is bad.

CD WILL NOT LOAD SAYS NO DISC IN PLAYER

You listed this in the auto section, so I'm not sure just where you have the problem. When you receive an error like this and you've tried several disks with the same result it means your CD player is bad and must be replaced.

2005 ford focus 6 disk factory cd player isn't working.

That is a load of croc what the dealer told you. They service every component on the vehicles they sell. Right down to a screw you may be missing. I'm just wondering if your car is still under warranty because I know a lot of dealers that will make excuses so they don't have to pay for the work out of their own pockets.

Not accepting cd's

I have the exact same car a 2005 Ford Focus ZX5 with a 6 disc MP3 player, when we first got the car the changer worked fine and would read all discs, after a few weeks it would kick out every disc and say that it was "bad disc", we tried buying just some office depot cleaning disc thinking it would clean the laser. This did nothing, tonight I got quite ambitious and removed the whole deck from the dash. You do this by carefully prying back the surrounding plate all the way around the heating controls and then unbolting the deck from the car. I unhooked the cabels that were running into and pulling it out. I then unscrewed all the small screws to the unit and took a look inside. As it turns out I wasn't able to find the laser eye as the changer had hidden it, so I screwed it back together and put it back in. Turned on the player and put in a disc and it played perfectly. So in the end basically unplugging it and plugging it back in did the trick. You may also have the same luck just unplugging the battery for about a minute and plugging it back rather than taking your dash apart. Hopefully that helps you since it's been 4 months since you posted this issue.
