You need to contact kodak and ask for a replacement print head, explain the code and whats been happening.

They will probably tell you to download new drivers and wash your printhead ect ect but nothing that helps.
I had the same problem with the same printer.
I couldn't get Kodak to send out a printhead, so after weeks of messing around, I took it back for a refund.
If you do manage to get a new printhead here are the instructions on how to remove and replace it.

error codes that you mentioned are not related to your issue you will get those are for front access door open and main paper tray empty.........the number of times you open the front access door and when ever the main paper tray is empty you will get that error.......you mentioned that HP printer worked......i would recommend to use a clear utility for HP and remove all the drivers and software for HP first as that might be conflicting with Kodak and make sure the version of the software for the home center(which includes drivers) is latest which is 3.4.......you can check for the version of the software by opening the home center and click on the question mark on the top right and then click on i which is on the right in the new pane that comes up and you will be able to see the software version in the right hand bottom corner on the small window that comes up.......if you have the latest version of the software then make sure you have the latest chipset drivers on your computer......for that you can contact your system manufacturer.......i suppose you have Dell...........if that also does not help then just tell me what all options you have under the Universal Serial Bus Controller.........also make sure if you have printer icon in the printers and faxes in case of XP and under printers in case its Vista.......if not then try and add a printer icon........if you already have a printer icon then try and right click on it and set it as default printer and then check if it works............let me know whats the result and was this helpful or not..............

IMPORTANT: In the next step, before you install the Home Center Software, make sure you disconnect the USB cable. Then, connect the USB cable when the software installation instructions tell you to do so.

To askmeprinter: following your recommended steps does fix the problem TEMPORARILY. The scanner will work after being re-installed, but will cease working again after going into sleep mode.

3501 error code indicates that the printer access door is open(The door that you open to able to see the ink cartridges).
If you recieved this error code and yet printer access door is open try to reopen it and close it, then unplug the power cable of your printer for 10sec then Plug the power cable back.
You cannot do any task on your printer if you have this message 3501. if this isue not solve call kodak tech support toll free 1 800 421 6699
