It's not your sound card. Speakers are the problem, they have a connector on the motherboard, it could be this connector unplug only a bit from his slot, or your speakers are broken.

I get a random buzz when I play music. First I thought it was my external hard drive failing, but have recently downloaded fresh music from amazon and that has a random buzz in most tracks. Replay the buzz...

I would have suggested it could have been to much bass as that can make some laptop speakers buzz sometimes but if the buzz is changeing place in random songs....,
The best way to test it is to use some headphones or external speakers through the headphone port if the buzz has gone it is an issue with the speakers themselves and could be dust or dirt on them or could be damage that needs them to be replaced.

Hello, teac mp-211 plays music with distortion, S.O.S.....

Sound quailty is a function of the rip bit rate (higher = potentially better) and the transducers (earbuds (worst) >>> real speakers (best). Can you fill in the unknown piece of this and evaluate it on your own for how it affects the sound? You could also try feeding the output to other speakers.

If you drag the music files to another place, like a hard drive and play them you can determine if the distortion is inherent to the recording/rip.

Hi. Today I bought a 3 foot audio y-cable and an RCA (Phono) Female to RCA (Phoneo) Female cable so that I could hook up these two speakers that I have that belong to a predisian sound system (boom box)...

All you need to do is get a USB based sound adapter 16/32BIT MINIMUM to plug your speakers straight into your laptop with better sound. Many laptops will have limited sound OUTPUT which places large limitations on pushing sound through your nice speakers. You already know the problem is not the speakers or new cables, therefore you know that problem has been isolated to your laptop. You may also check the volume settings in the laptop to ensure your running the highest possible BIT or volume enhacement software. Let me know if this does the trick for you.

You sound driver may be corrupted, I suggest you re-install the audio driver.

Earpiece not working after hooking it up with a bluetooth speaker

Go to Bluetooth settings and turn on Bluetooth.
The paired devices will be shown.
Delete paired device or unpair device .
This should solve the issue .

Since the mobile is paired with the Bluetooth speaker every time a call comes in the phone automatically connects to the Bluetooth speaker.

Switching off the Bluetooth speaker may also work.

I have a 4 month old Dell Studio 1535 laptop, with audio problems

Hi,
Firstly check that the microphone level is down or turned off as this sounds like some sort of feedback that's being produced.

Check the microphone and try to play music again.

Please post back

Good luck.

Bass sound coming out whenever i move the right speaker

seems like one of the wires is loose either inside the speaker or in the cable leading to it.
best chance is to open up the right speaker ( involvs damage to the plastic , since atp3 speakers are glued and practically unopenable with out breaking)
and then trying to play with the wires `till you find the sourse of the problem.
as soon as you know where the probles is , i`m sure its gonna be easy to fix, again , the hard part is to take this speaker apart.
good luck

Hi, My speakers won't work on my "Vista" laptop. I have made 3 trips to bestbuy. "it's 20 miles round trip." The geek guy got them working, when I play DVD movie. befor they worked on...

Your Majorgeek seems to have been a Minorgeek. When you purchase external speakers to use with your laptop, you must configure your laptop for them. Since your system appears to have worked before you tried to use external speakers, I doubt that you have a problem with your sound device driver. Still,
go to control panel, and check device manager to see if you have any problems. If you have a problem flagged, let me know. If not, click on Hardware and Sound, then on Sound, and see how your laptop speakers are configured. Majorgeek should have turned off your internal laptop speakers and configured them for your external speakers. If they didn't, that likely explains your problem. Configure them and test the sound there.

If you need to use your laptop speakers (say you take your laptop somewhere without your external speakers) you will need to reconfigure your sound to the laptop speakers whenever you need to use them. Let me know if this solved your problem.

Trouble with Speaker 5.1 +Vista + Asus P5k Motherboard. No Rear Speaker sound

Hi Perseo,

If you run through a speaker test in windows, and hear playback from all 5 speakers and the subwoofer, then your system is correctly connected, and working properly.

Vista uses a layered sound system that renders sound a bit differently than what you're used to on your previous system. As a result, it will most often refuse to project stereo sources in 5-channel surround, on it's own. it will just play them as stereo, and the bass will fill in whenever it can.

One possible way you could use to get around this, is to force the system to use all 5 speakers, through the driver. If you're using a realtek onboard card anything like mine (I have a p5k-VM board myself), this can be done by opening up the HD Audio Manager, and selecting the "Speaker Fill" option, under the Speaker Configuration" tab.

another option would be to load your media player you use to play music or movies, and see if there's an option to change speaker settings within the programs.

hope this helps!
