You might try Radio Shack for the pot, also a larger music store with or without repair dept, typically stock various pots like that, some with audio taper and some with linear taper Also if Radio Shack doesn't actually have it in stock they have an extensive parts suppy catalog in the store, also Allied Radio out of Chicago is another option, good luck

Can a Potentiometer RV4LAYSD503A 50K Ohm 19-8351 be replaced with RV4LAYSA503A Potentiometer 50KOHM

I don't know but the similarity in part number would suggest one is a revision of the other or originates from a different manufacturer.

If they are dimensionally similar it would be worth a try if the correct replacement isn't available. The main thing to watch out for could be differences between the tracks of the two types.
There are four types of carbon potentiometer tracks; linear, logarithmic and anti-clockwise versions of those two. Linear types tend to be used for adjusting voltage whereas log types are about sound. Used for volume controls they closely mimmick the logarithmic response of human hearing.

The difference is easily recognised using an analogue ohmmeter.
Fitting a linear in the place of a log type would likely mean most of the adjustment would be bunched at one end of the track.

Although manufacturers tend to give spare parts of their own products fancy part numbers, very few are specially made and most are sourced from catalogues of generic parts. It is often cheaper to take a look in constructor catalogues and those supplying parts to the repair trade before resorting to manufacturer's spare parts.

I have gps 900 peavey the problem is motorboating sounds, can you help me please

Usually, motorboating is caused by a bad capacitor, either in the input section OR in the power amp section (large capacitors) . If you do not know about amplifier repair, you can zap yourself easily if you do not properly discharge capacitors before repair. Do not take a risk of electrocution to save a couple of bucks and possibly do more damage to your unit. Call Peavey for a service center near you.

Behringer DE2000 De-Esser broken band width pot

Best bet is probably Mouser, http://www.mouser.com Search for the individual catagory. While there is no direct cross, you should have an audio taper or logrithmic tape- similar graphs, but slightly different. It might do well to get one of each and use the one that matches the response of the others.

If however you have a loudness tap- usually 40 percent, that changes the ballgame. Mouser would still likely be the best bet. Over 800 items for pots in the general search at 50K

If your outer trace is intact, you can measure that with a meter to verify that is the range you need.

The loudness knob has suddenly stopped working. The knob just spins, won't turn on the receiver at all. Any ideas?

The knobs are usually connected to a potentiometer; basically a variable resistor circuit with a long shaft that the knob attaches to. The knob could be secured to the shaft with a plastic grommet, which can be stripped. It could be attached by a small screw on the knob, and tightening that would fix it. Or, it's possible that the potentiometer itself broke, and would need to be replaced.

If the "pot" is broken, a repair shop should be able to fix it for less than $50. If you're handy with tools, you can take the 7100A apart; hopefully read the specs from the potentiometer; and buy a new one. Replacing it shouldn't take more than a few screwdrivers, some pliers, and a soldering iron...

Good luck!

I'm missing the volume pot and dont know which one to buy. Its a champion 30 dsp fender guitar amp. Thanks

There are two volume controls. One is "drive volume" the other just "volume"

The plain volume control is a 50K ohm, linear taper.(A) old marking

The Drive volume is a 100K ohm Log taper.(C) old marking

Find suitablel parts at DigiKey.com or Mouser.com or find a Febder repair center to order the part.

From other than Fender, You may have to shorten the shaft with a hacksaw to match your needs.

The volume knob has broken off at the base on chan 1 of my peavey KB100 keyboard amplifier. part needs replacing in NW London?

Was it the know or the pot? The pot is the metal(sometimes plastic) shaft with a nut securing it to the enclosure.

Here is your nearest registered Peavey service center. http://www.peavey-eu.com/support_2_detail.php?flag=GB&lan=UK&var=ser&key=SERVICE

This could also be repaired by someone with electronics knowledge. Just would need to know the pot taper and resistance. This would be on the front of the pot on the same side as the shaft. The enclosure would need to be taken apart.

Looking for a schmatic for the 410 tvx 4 ohm and the 410 tvx 8ohm cabinets

Go to www.peavey.com/asstes/literature/specs/005584220_3.pdf. Apparently the 410 TVX can be used in 4ohm or ohm configurations just don't drop below 4 ohms and make sure your amp has the minimum required impedence. Hope this helps.

VR353 is a 200k pot that feeds directly in to the vertical oscillation input of the chip on the main board at connection B1. If this pot is broken, you must replace the pot in order to get any vertical oscillation at all.

More info for you

The pot is a 50k ohm audio taper pot with an integrated switch. The shaft is called a "D" shaft and is used with knobs that have a set screw. The 3 pins are the for the resistance with the center pin being the wiper. The other two pins are for the on & off switch.

It's going to be hard to find the exact replacement without knowing the manufacturer of the pot. It looks like the one you have is soldered to a PC board and the pins have to be in the right spot on the new pot order to match up with the PC board.

What you can do is buy one with solder terminals. Rotate the pot so that the terminals are facing up and just solder wires from the terminals to the PC board. If the shaft is to long, you can cut it down with a hacksaw.

I am looking for sites for you to call. here's a few I found thus far:
