Hello, you will need to change the frequency chip which modulates the picture. Each country has its own video scan rate. Most of the countries use the same audio chip but not the picture/video scan chip. A technician should do it for you for a reasonable price. I hope I have helped.

your friend is right you require pal system to run tv properly.
on the back side of your tv there might be switch pal/ntsc
if that system change over switch is not there then you are helpless
