Question about Pioneer Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I own an Pioneer CD tuner XC-L11 with a stereo power amplifier M-L11. Recently it won't switch on with the standby button flashing red. After consistent attempts to put it on, it works but when put off and leave for a period of time the standby button begin to flash again. Could you help me to fix this problem? Thanks, Jeffrey.

Thanks so much for the solution proffer. I like to point out here that it is not the light on the amp that blinks but the power light on the CD tuner XC-L11. Please, help!
    Thanks.

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as a root cause for intermittent shutdown.

Pioneer Amp input is analog. if there is a headphones out

( no model for Samsung LED TV) , connect it , not using your

Fisual Digital Opitcal Toslink Cable.

If you really need to use the TV digital out you may need a Digital

On the first board (where the power enters) there is a tall 3 pronged switch, if you turn the board over and solder a piece of wire to the 2 outside prongs, you will find that the Amp works normally apart from that the display reads Cd closed when in Cd mode.

Pioneer Model Is21 stereo

Switch speaker wires if sound switches then amp probably has a final amp ic.output problem. Try balance control and tape dubbing or loudness buttons to see if any are dirty.
May have to get repairs at a shop if the amp is worth saving.

Good Luck
