The pump in the dishwasher is supposed to provide enough water pressure to turn the spray arms and make them rotate. The pump is faulty and not giving enough pressure or the arms are stuck.
Try spinning the arms, if they rotate smoothly, you will need to replace the pump.

Hello sir

Make sure that nothing is blocking the sprayer arms. Some models of dishwashers have an alternating sprayer arm washing system. What this does is cycle the washing action between the lower sprayer arm and the middle sprayer arm. The cycle begins with the lower arm spraying first, then switching over to the middle sprayer arm, and back again through-out the washing cycle. The sprayer arms will pause as they switch over from one to the other, making it sound like the sprayer arms aren't turning. If you're sure that the arms are not turning at all, open the dishwasher and verify that nothing is blocking the sprayer arm rotation, and that there is water in the bottom of the sump covering the filter area.

Run a cycle through with it empty. see if the arms move then. what could be happening is that when you load it a fork or spoon could have dropped and lodge the arm or blocked it so it couldn't spin or move. let me know what you find out

Water comes out but spray arms don't turn and motor doesn't seem to be runing

Sounds like a bad pump/motor. It is also possible that something hard (like broken glass) got down into the pump impeller, stopping it from turning. Depending on the brand and model, this may be easy or hard to check and clean out.

Frigidaire 18" dishwasher arm is not spinning, and dishwasher is making a very loud noise.

Hi Ellie, this is AP!

I understand you are experiencing some trouble with your Frigidaire built-in dishwasher. Without knowing the exact model number I would assume there are two spray arms on this dishwasher, are both arms not moving or just one? Keep in mind that some dishwashers have two spray arms that turn at alternate times. They will never move at the same time. The changing of the arms starts at different times depending model and will continue through the end of the selected wash cycle.
If you can provide the model number for the dishwasher I should be able to provide you with the instructions to remove the spray arms or you could contact the manufacture they may supply it to you also. You could also apply rinse aid to the junction between the spray arms and mount to see if it will relieve the arm to spin. If not, please reply back with the model number so I could provide a more educated response.

The top spray arm is not turning as best i can tell. bottom one is.. frigidaire model # fdb1050rec2. please help! thank you

If your dishwasher does not fill up with the correct amount of water the top spray arm will not get the water pressure it should.
The water level should be just under the heating element.

No water in spray arms

Since water is recirculated during the cycles, there is most likely a filter of some kind in the water path and that is probably clogged with debris.
Go to the Sears parts dept. and enter your make and model to see if they have your machine listed in their library. If so, there will be a line drawing of the machine so you can locate where the filter is located and possibly reorder from that same page. Sears carries or supplies parts for about every make and model.

Fdb1050rec1 frigidaire dishwasher door leak

I think you most likely have a basin Float water level sensor that is no working correctly, the door seal is not water proof, if the water level gets over the lip of the basin it will leak on the floor.

Dishwasher doesn't seem to be cleaning. Detergent cup opens, but detergent oozes down the inside of the door. Dishwasher is Frigidaire FDB956RBC

More then likely your water is not circulating properly.
Can be a tricky fix, Usually involves turning the unit upside down and replacing the impeller.
Could also be something blocking the jets (Little holes in the Water arms) Poke them with a small toothpick or something small to make sure the water is flowing good threw them.
Most of my experiences it has been the impeller wheel that usually goes bad.

Hope this helps.
Good luck!

Dishwasher

This dishwasher does not feed water to top and bottom arms at same time.  It starts with bottom and then after awhile it switches to top and then cycles.  If water comes out arms but arms won't turn,  check all holes in arms.  It's the water spraying out these that causes arms to turn.   If arms spin freely by hand,  it's a plugged arm or holes in arm or insufficient water in tank.
Being that it only sprays 4 inches suggests a water level problem or possible mineral build up restricting flow.

Frigidaire dishwasher...

It is very possible that something could be obstructing the main pump. But, first. Does your dishwasher fill with enough water? When full, the water level should fill to just below the heating element. You can check this by waiting for the fill cycle to stop and the normal wash cycle to begin. Open the door and check the water level. If your dishwasher isn't getting enough water, you could have a bad fill valve, or the inlet water line could be kinked. If this isn't the case, then suspect that you might have a clogged pump. Food particles such as popcorn kernels, orange or lemon seeds, small chicken bones and glass are notorious for getting into the pump screen area and obstructing the water flow (some of the other items I have found are labels off jars, bottle top seals, twist ties, rib bones, hair scrunchies, and yes - even band-aids!). Even though some dishwasher manufacturers advertise some amazing capabilities of their dishwashers, you still need to scrape your dishes of all food particles as much as possible. This does not mean you have to pre-wash prior to loading them. Anything that doesn't get dissolved by the wash cycle and detergent will end up sitting in the pump well. If the pump isn't able to pump enough water, your dishwasher will fill normally, but the spray arms will not turn, detergent does not dissolve and your dishes will not come clean. To get to the pump, you need to remove the lower spray arm and the coarse screen (located directly under the lower spray arm). The pump well should be located under the coarse screen. Look for anything that may restricting the water flow. I hope this helps and it's easy fix for you.
