Question about Fuji FinePix A340 Digital Camera

Card Initialize Error

I recently purchased a new Olympus XD 2GB memory card however it is not working with my camera. It displays card initalize error when I try to access it. I have tried formatting the card numerous times and it still does not work. I have also tried to format it using the computer and no such luck. I tried a new Fuji memory card and it would not intialize either. The only card that is currently working on my camera is the original card that I have used on it for years. -- I tried the new Olympus card I bought on an another camera and it works. -- So- its not the card.

Please help. Is it a problem with my camera? What can I do to fix this?

Thanks in advance with any assistance you may have.

What size is the original card? I don't think it is your camera, possibly the size of the new card.

Hi i have an finepixa350 digital camara , i had lost the xd picture card the came with it so i got an Olympus xd m+ 2bg card and it keeps coming back "card error" help!

Your problem is that you have purchased an incompatible memory card.

The largest capacity xD card which your camera can use is 1GB, but it works better with a maximum of 512MB as 1GB can make the camera operations a little sluggish.

There are no updates to enable your camera to use the latest xD cards as the limitation is a hardware issue due to evolving technology.

You therefore only have two fixes: replace the xD card with a maximum 1GB capacity (but preferably 512MB), or replace your camera with one of the recent models which accepts the 2GB xD card.

I hope that I have provided you with a clear explanation and practical options to fix your problem. Please take a moment to rate the free answer I have provided for you and any testimonial which you might wish to add is always welcome!

You probably just need to format the card in the camera to get it to work.

Card not initalized

Is the card larger than 2GB.
If so its too big for the S7000.
The only solution to more capacity is 2GB xd card + 2GB compact flash card.
Or just use as many XD cards as you need.

Memory Card Compatibility

You may need to call Fuji and see if the 2gb xD card is compatible to your camera model. It's possible that Fuji can provide you with steps to make the card compatible to that camera. Fuji telephone number is 800-800-3854 option 1

Format problems of Olympus 1Gb card with C-750UZ

The problem is that the largest xD card that your camera can support is an M or H 512mb card. The 1gb card is not compatible. The firmware in the camera cannot support memory storage with that capacity. The camera came out before those cards did and there no plans to upgrade the camera to allow those types of cards to be supported.

D-560

Is that card compatible with that camera. They make HD (high definition) cards (4gig and above) that will only work with newer camera's. Of course, i am speaking of SD cards. But the XD may have a similar feature.
That is the exact error i got when i tried to use an HD card in my 5 year old camera.
Try downgrading to a smaller memory card. Also, is that memory card exactly as the one you have had prior to this?

its the card not the camera.
i think you fingers have come into contact with the gold bits on the xd card.
try wipping the card and putting it in several times,if all fails buy your self an olympus 1gb xd card H TYPE.

the best compact of all time was the Olympus C-70 Zoom Camera which can be found 2nd hand over ebay.
