The processor socket type must match the board design - The P3 processor may not be the equivalent type.

XP Pro only starts in Safe Mode

this is basically problem related to your hardware.. please check that you meet all the hardware requirements as well as you must have proper copy of that Xp to be installed. And if that so, then you must go BIOS settings by Pressing F8 key at booting time where you must change your booting sequence...Your problem will be solved.
if it doesn't work, then check all the drivers to be needed after installing the XP.
If the problem still persists, then you must reinstall XP.

Laptop booting up and then shutting off unexpectedly.

This sounds like the cpu fan assembly go to Gateway and enter the model in the support then download the system diagram so you can remove the casing it would take me forever to type the inst. once you have removed the cover put you hand over the cpu fan assembly and check for airflow
If you are afraid to diass. your comp. take it to a pro.

Drivers for docking station?

The driver that's needed for docking station (it's more a port replicator than a docking station) support is Toshiba's Mobile Extension 3. After that, it oughta support warm/cold dock/undock.

Go here to find and download Mobile Extension 3: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=SB&os=&category=&moid=160273&rpn=PS610U&modelFilter=6100&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768667

Emonster 600 won't boot up

You should not loose any information seeing that all information is held on your hard drive. As for changing out the processor, it seems pretty intimidating but is rather simple. When you have the side of the computer removed and can see into the tower you see the CPU (processer) fan. To the left side of the fan you see a little metal prog/bracket. Insert a flat head screwdriver into the slot and press down gently and then use leverage (just a little) to pull the bottom of the bracket out from it's holding. Once this is unhooked the fan will come off very easy. Next... at the bottom side of the square holding the processer will be a brown tooth pick like pice of plastic. Pull it gently down (twardse the bottom of the computer housing) from the left hand side then up to the right. Pretty much a fulcrum... the pulling down lets it come loose from its holding then pulling it up (directly to you from left to right) will unseat the processer. Once you have done this the processer will come out very easy with two fingers grasping on to two sides of it. When you get the new processer it should come with the "goop" (the silver stuff you see on the bottom of the fan and the top of the processer. Clean the bottom of the fan of the goop and apply fresh goop. Then apply a light coating to the processer. Place the processer back into it seating and repeat all steps backwards. If you need more help feel free to ask... I have an old E machine in my stack or old puters that I can do a play by play with and take photos of the steps and post the links on here for you if need be. As for your power supply, if it has that much of a loss I would sudgest replacing it.
