Battery for Sony DSC T-300

I bought a new sony dsc t-300 camera. With it I also bought a "digital extreme power" D series NP-BD1 battery. I insert the fully charged battery into the camera, turn it on, it then tells me that "for use with compatible battery only" does this mean that the battery is bad? I can not send it back because I have already opened the package. Thanks for your help Suzzz

I bought a SONY DSC-S750 3 months ago. Since last week, when i turn the camera on, appears the message "for use with compatible battery only". The battery came with the camera. The camera was bought in a big store in Philadelphia. I WILL NEVER BUY A SONY CAMERA AGAIN. I already tried to reset, tried to remove the battery and the problem persists.

When I Drop $150 on a new camera from Sony I thought I was getting a good product from a good company- instead I got a 'dud' so i thought; now I can't help but feel that this is a planned fault in the program on be half of Sony.
I thought I would find a solution online instead all i read is hundreds of people with the same age camera with the same battery problems. If this was a car and it had a problem a responsible company would acknowledge it and fix it instead of having a class action suite or angry customers.
Shame on Sony.

The DSC-W55 does not contain any charging circuitry. Connecting the camera to a computer makes the battery drain faster, since the camera must use juice communicating with the computer (even if only to say it has nothing to say). You need to use the supplied battery charger to charge the battery.

Problem with recognising battery

Hello

Thank you for using FixYa for your problem

Always check the batteries first but if is it still giving the same fault, your camera is faulty.
It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

Please rate our solutions and if you still have problems please call back for more ideas to help you

After leaving my Sony DSC-T2 camera unused for only a couple of days the battery was flat. I recharged it fully but again it only lasted a day or two. I assumed the battery was dead and I purchased a new...

If the troubleshooting section in the back of the user guide doesn't help, I sugget getting in touch with Sony and asking them if it's normal, the only thing I can suggest in the meantime, is taking the battery out while it's not in use, or recharge it a few hours before you're due to use it. Phones get like it after a few years and with technology advancing the way it is these days, you'd expect a battery life lasting longer than a week, not a day.

Things to consider:
1. When it's off, is it off or left on standby?
2. Where did you buy both the camera and batteries from?
3. When you charge it up, do you charge it up with a half charged battery or a totally dead battery?

When it comes to this matter,If it isn't the snoy battery problem, then it must be the problem of sony camera charger.
