I have a Miele H147-2mb combi oven. If I start microwave in the 900w mode for a little bottle with milk i see a flame on the topplate of the oven. It's a circle with a diameter of 5 - 10 cm.

Hi there - the cover plate is most likely to be damaged or theres dirt build up behind the cover plate causing it the arc or short to the frame...

Worse case is the microwave cannot be used as it will cause more damage to the oven.. there are a few screws holding the cover plate to the top - remove it gently - if not damaged as its made of fibreglass you may be able to re-use it - inspect the hole/microwave entry for the damage caused by the arc reactions.

Pending on how bad it is - you may just have to use the oven only as one needs to replace the entire casing to overcome the problem which is costly. Wipe the carbon off the oven with a damp cloth - please don't scrap it off as it will enhance the arcing and if the damage is already excessive then reside to using the oven only.

Good luck

When oven is heating up a massive bang occurs. Sounds a bit like a gun shot. Also hinge on glass top are broken - where can we purchase parts to fix this.

The loud noise is either from sheet metal expanding under stress or an electrical arc. I recommend unplugging the oven, taking the back off, and inspecting the wiring to the oven heating element and the sheet metal near the wiring. Also inspect the plug and socket, oven control and the oven heater element itself for similar problems. If you see signs that arcing has occurred (burn marks, especially with melted metal), repair the wiring and reroute it if necessary to prevent arcing.

If you don't find anything, first make sure the oven rests firmly and levelly on all four feet to eliminate any twisting stress. If there is a problem here, the noise should go away after one or two more cycles once you fix it. A twist in the oven could have something to do with the broken hinges. In the worst case, you may have to loosen and tighten a lot of sheet metal screws to relieve stress in the assembly. It would best if you could locate where in the oven the noise is produced before doing this.

I was unable to find any reference to parts for your model. Please look for the model label either on the doorframe or inside the drawer under the main oven door and verify the complete model number. Also look at the hinges for a part number stamped on them. There are a number of on-line appliance parts stores that carry Dacor parts; you should be able to find something with a search for "Dacor" and the part or model number.

I am getting arching in the oven when the only thing is themetal pan (rotating) the white dish and any food on the white dish What is happening?

Hello, thank you for posting your question on Fixya. I will be helping you with your Advantium oven. From your description it sounds like your having problem with the oven arcing. While you are using your microwave you can only have arcing occur while you are using the microwave or speedcook feature. While in either mode attention must be given to any mental in the oven. When microwaving place food and containers on the white ceramic tray only. The metal pan should be used during speedcook.

Happy Holidays!

Stove top ignitors do not ignite but oven does.

Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good “blue” arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.

Won't reach oven set temp.

Have you check to in sure that the switch is on bake or broil?
Does one of the elements have any arc marks on it? Could be one of the elements shot.

Popping and arc-ing in the convection area after turning off oven!  I shut off power immediatly!

I would suggest that you check the oven element, as this is about the only thing that could cause the problem.
Plz rate my comments.
Thanks.

Yes the element failed and they will arc when they do that.Ive actually seen people hose them down with a fire extinguisher only to have it still arc. Bake elements are inexpensive and very easy to install.
