Assuming you have one of the Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, etc.) go to Start -> All Programs -> Internet Explorer.

To add a shortcut to the Start Menu, right click on Internet Explorer icon, and select "Pin to Start Menu".

To add a shortcut to your desktop, right click on Internet Explorer icon, and select "Send to" -> "Desktop (create shortcut)"

Probably your web-cam driver software is corrupt and so there is no action. So remove the web-cam and un-install the web-cam, the reinstall the driver to the PC, then connect the web-cam to be detected and installed as a new hardware. Now open the icon and click to record, if not the web cam is faulty.

When you open your 'my computer' icon, do you see your CD drive? If so, double click on you CD drive and open the files on the CD and look for the setup icon to double click.

If you have documentation there might be direction on a command to type into your 'run' box, (get to by clicking on Start, then Run.

Go to My Computer. If you cant still see the webcam icon then Go to Control Panel and switch it to classic. Look for the Scanners and Camera and open it. There you will see the installed webcam in your computer.

How do I access my webcam to take pictures and that sort of thing on my new hp laptop?
  1. Ensure the web cam is secured to your personal computer (PC). Most web cams use a "plug and play" principle. You plug the web cam in; it operates.
  2. Install the required software for the web cam to operate. This may involve placing a CD in one of the drives, or alternatively, downloading the software from a host site.
  3. Always reboot the computer after installing new software.
  4. Click on the desktop icon or the program icon to start the program. If the program is correctly functioning, the web cam will start producing an image of its view on the desktop. Adjust the web cam for a clear picture and the view you want.
  5. Most web programs will have a icon for "take picture." Left click on that icon or button. The web cam, like a normal camera, will then "freeze" that image and place it in a photo library.
  6. Open the photo library and examine the image just taken. Congratulations, you just took a photograph with your web cam.

I know I have webcam in my laptop but I dun know the location n how to on it
First check your web cam driver are install.
Open my computer then you can see camera icon on bottom side in my computer.
Double click on camera icon.then you can use it.If you want to take picture then clcik on "Take new picture" in left side .
If there is not camera icon in my computer then you have to install your web cam driver.

I cant find the icon for acercrystaleye webcam in the start menu
When you said 'repair', do you mean you reinstalled your Windows over the old (broken) installation ?

If so, then you have to install all drivers for you laptop, including driver (and software maybe) for your WebCam.

Then you can find it in 'My computer' and maybe an icon on your desktop.
