I'm not sure if it is. Usually it has a small contact inside it. If you culd work a knob back in it to get temporary contact to change it. Maybe it would be costly to take it to the shop to get one soldered in. Radio techs make $18-30 dollars an hour. They will fix it for you but will cost you.

Why wont my 2001 ford windstar blow out of vents ? only on defrost?

Air Flow Control
Air flow control is accomplished in the following manner:
  • Primary control is through the function selector knob , mounted on the heater function selector switch, which is part of the heater control .
  • The function selector knob has the following positions: OFF, PANEL, PANEL/FLOOR, FLOOR, FLOOR/DEFROST and DEFROST.
  • The heater function selector switch combines a vacuum selector valve with an internal electrical switch.
  • The vacuum selector valve directs source vacuum to various vacuum control motors (18A318) . Refer to the System Airflow Schematic and Vacuum Control Charts.
  • An internal single-pole electrical switch is also controlled by the selector. The switch controls the electrical supply to the heater blower motor switch (18578) .
  • The position of the function selector knob determines the manner in which the system will operate.
  • Each position of the function selector knob is detented for positive engagement.
  • You probably have a vacuum leak , Pull heater control panel an check for vacuum . A broke vacuum hose or The vacuum selector valve is bad ! Or check for a vacuum hose in the engine compartment being off somewhere !

2003 Mitsubishi montero sport the shifter is broke and i need to know.removal of center console

you don't need to remove the whole console it is in sections, take a screwdriver and gently pry the front and side of the cup holder releasing the clips then pull strait up, you will see 2 phillips screws underneath remove those and pull up and back on the shifter cover, to remove the shift knob pry the lower part of the knob away from the from the top you will see 2 set screws underneath this cover then pull shifter strait up, don't forget to unplug the light for the gear selector from underside of the cover or the light assembly will break ( glued in place), the boot for the 2wd/4wd selector is held in place by 4 Phillips screws from the underside of the cover remove these and the boot stays on the selector and you can remove the cover

I have an older a/c model no. A494901 (?). The control knob broke off. Is it very hard to replace it with a new knob? And, where would I get a new knob? Thanks, -Fran O'Neill

Depending on your break is the stem leading from the settings selector switch still there or did it break to. If it broke as well you will need to replace both the selector switch and the knob. If not the knob can be obtained from your local Sears Repair Center.

I am looking for a cooling knob selector. the knob broke and no local hardware store has this knob. Can you please help me in finding a colling selector knob

If you try with electronic spares shop, you will be able to get some replacement for the knob. A universal type can always be fitted and you can source this even from the gas/oven spare parts stores.
Also if you check with any AC repair shops the knob can easily be salvaged from an old non working set. I am sure you can find one from any of these shops.
Hope my advice helps. Good day

Viking Husqvarna Model 6020 stitch selector will not turn.

look at the cam gear. This is the unit that the cam connects to. It could have a crack or be split completely. If there is a crack the cam stack will have to be replaced. The parts are hard to get and a good technician is needed.

How to replace the selector control knob on a Frigidaire front load washer Model FWT449GFS2

Push-in center knob and and turn Counter Clockwise to loose it from the treaded shaft. Next, without Pushing in, continue turning CC till it comes off.

If necessary, remove the outer indicator knob by sqeezing the two release clips in the center. This knob is keyed to only go back on one way so you don't need to remember its location before removal.

Reverse the process to install new knobs.

Oh, if you need to replace the cam or timer which are behind these knobs, the front panel will have to be removed by first removing the top cover of the washer. Now you can access the six screws inside the washer and one in front behind the detergent dispenser.

I have a Ranger 6900F Jumbo

left to right,Volume,on/off(center) Squelch (outside)2nd knob is mic gain (center) this controls how much adio output you produce.. and rf gain,(outside) This adjust how sensitive the radio recieves.3rd knob is pa/fm/am This sets the radio up for using a public address horn if hooked up, or to transmit and recieve on am (most common) or fm.
The next knob controls what bands o channels you operate on .6 bands of channels with 40 channels each. The next knob controls the amount of echo and reverb you use when you talk. The center controls the echo and the outside controls the speed,or reverb effect. The next knob controls the talk back(so you hear what you sound like on the center control, and the outside controls how much power you put out.The next knob, the biggest one is your channel selector. The push buttons are top l to r are:1 is the dimmer switch for your lights, the middel top is noise blanker and automatic noise limiter. This blanks out a lot of static and outside electrical noise.the last top switch is a roger beep switch to turn it on and off. When it is on you will produce a quick beep when you unkey the mike. This was originally used to let the other people on the bands know you stopped talking. The bottom left shuts off the frequency counter(the numbered display ie27.185,the middle sets the meter to be used as an swr meter or a regular s/rf meter.the last on the bottom will boost the frequencet up100 kilohertz.if you go to the following url you can get more info:http://www.rangerusa.com/.
Hope this helps

How to remove the washer cycle selection/start-stop knob on a Whilpool Heavy Duty Thin Twin stacked washer dryer

I believe the selector knob on a Whirpool just has to be turned counter-clockwise with the selector pushed in. It will spin off the shaft and then the outer indicator dial will pull off. The shaft also has a keyed slot that will only allow the dial to be removed and installed one way, so there should be no question as to how it goes back on.

Was there a reason as to why you are removing the washer selector knob? If this is a simple matter of replacing a broken water temperature selector, you shouldn't have to remove any of the control knobs to gain access to the selector. The entire front panel comes off by removing the screws holding it in place. That way you can access the broken selector from behind the front panel much easier. Just remove the panel right above the washer top (under the dryer) and it should expose the front panel mounting screws. Remove these screws and the front panel comes off. Just make sure the unit is unplugged before you begin. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you need further assistance.
