Did you follow the steps on the back of the remote? you should just simply have to cycle through the frequencies until it shuts off.

When im recording im unable to watch any other channels

That can be normal with some DVR boxes as recording a program requires a tuner and watching requires a tuner. If the model of DVR you have only has one, then you can do one or the other but not both.

Some cable companies offer DVRs with more than one tuner in them that let's you do what you described. You could contact your provider and ask them about that option.

Hello
Here are the proceedings to setup your remote with other devices.

The One For All 3 Device Universal Remote Control is preprogrammed at

the factory to operate an RCA TV, a Toshiba DVD player, and a Motorola

cable box.To control devices other than the default brands, perform the following
steps; otherwise skip this section:

[1] Turn on a desired device (e.g.,VCR or DVD player) and, if

applicable, insert media (e.g., cassette or disc).

NOTE: Please read steps 2 through 4 completely before proceeding.

Highlight or write down the codes and device you wish to program
before starting step 2.

[2] On the remote control,press a device key once (i.e., DVD/VCR,

CBL/SAT,or TV).

NOTE: To program control of a VCR, PVR (or DVR),TV/VCR Combo,

or TV/VCR/DVD Player Combo press DVD/VCR once. After programming

a VCR Combo device, you will be able to control channel selection,

volume, and VCR functions.

NOTE: To program control of a DVD Player,DVD Player/VCR

Combo, or TV/DVD Player Combo, press DVD/VCR once. After programming

a DVD Combo device, you will be able to control channel

selection, volume, and DVD functions.

NOTE: To program control of a Cable Box, Cable Box/PVR (or DVR)
Combo, Satellite Receiver, or a

Satellite Receiver/PVR (or DVR)
Combo, press CBL/SAT once.

[3] Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice,
then release SET.

[4] Use the Manufacturer's Codes (starting on page 18) to

locate the type of device and brand name and then enter

the first four-digit code for your device. If performed correctly,

the LED will blink twice.

NOTE: If the LED did not blink twice, repeat steps 2 through 4 and enter
the same code again.

[5] Aim the remote control at the device and press POWER

once. The device should turn off. If it does not, repeat

steps 2 through 5, trying each code for your brand until

you find one that works. If it still doesn't work, try

Searching For Your Code on next page.
NOTE: If the device does not have a POWER key, press PLAY.
Repeat steps 1 through 5 for each device you want to control
OK

Im looking for codes for a sylvania tv

The codes to try for Sylvania TVs are 0054 0030 0171.

The manual and codes are available from the One For All support site: http://www.oneforall-na.com/remote.php?type=URC%203021 . The link for codes is at the bottom right of the page.

However, most remotes are limited to codes for devices released 6 months or more before the remote was programmed. If your TV is newer than your remote, then you may need to get a newer remote.

I hope this helps.

Have magnavox dvd recorder record direcTV DVR programs w/ hdtv

I am unfamiliar with this unit.
If you have scart connecters on both, connect av2 on the tv to av in on the recorder. set the recorder to record from av source.
You should now record a program, I think the static is the fact that composite is out from the dvd only, not an input, and in on the tv, not an output.

Remote code for comcast dvr/proscan tv

I was having the same problem with my 40" Proscan Tv. I had to go to Comcast and get the remote with the gray OK button instead of the red. I could program my DVD player with a 4 digit code so this remote worked when I put in the 4 digit code Proscan sent with the TV (0178). This was the only solution I could find . They do have the remotes with the gray button but you might have to be very persistant to get one with the codes for the rest of your electronics.

Im looking for the setup code for a Samsung HT Z320 on a Comcast Custom DVR 3 Device remote control. either the code or instructions on how to find the set the remote.

try, 0144 or 0573, 0820

i think you have best luck with this one: 1932

other possible codes are:
0060, 0030, 0178, 0056, 0702, 0240, 0045

to set the remote you need to folow these instructions:

1. Turn on a device (e.g., VCR or DVD Player) and, if applicable, insert media, (e.g., video cassette or disc).

NOTE: Please read steps 2 to 6 completely before proceeding. Highlight or write down the codes and device you wish to program before moving on to step 2.

2. On the remote control, press a device key once (i.e., AUX or TV).

NOTE: Use the AUX key to program control of an Audio Amplifier or Receiver, a DVD Player, a Home- Theater-In-A-Box Device, a PVR (or DVR), or a VCR.

3. Press and hold Setup until the selected mode key blinks twice,
then release Setup.

4. Locate the code for your device (code should be listed above).

5. Enter the first four-digit code for your device. If you perform this procedure correctly, the selected mode key will blink twice.

NOTE: If you enter an invalid code, the selected mode key will display one long blink and exit the programming mode. Repeat steps 2 to 5 with a valid code. 6. Aim the remote control at your device and press Power once. The device should turn off. If it does not respond, repeat steps 2 to 6.
