Hard drive wipe issue

I just recently wiped my hard drive and now my Toshiba Satellite A65-S126 does not read the built in (Atheros, I believe) wireless card. When I go into device manager it shows ethernet controller and PCI modem as missing drivers. I have tried to find the drivers but have yet to be sucessful. Unfortunatly I have no access to the web on my laptop so I cannot download a driver dective type program. Is there a place to download the appropriate drivers or whatever it is I need.

I think you need to try:

http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/sa70atwlanx.exe

The only thing is that says it's version 3.1.4 or something and the driver on my A65-s126 says it's version 7.4.2.105

But then, what's the harm, if it's not working anyway, go ahead and download it and see if it comes alive. You can't exactly "break it" if it's not working.

It appears you have some kind of web access so I woulld start at the Toshiba site to look for drivers and download to an optical disk for installation into your laptop.
Most public libraries have terminals and on request, on your cost, they will burn a CD for you or allow you to burn one on your own blank.
Those drivers might also be already on whatever Toshiba disks supplied with the system.

Satellite a65 problem with atheros wireless driver after XP Pro SP2 installed

Hi,

Perhaps what is required is to install the drivers separately and use those from the manufacturer, Toshiba. Incidentally, there are 18 versions of a Satellite A65, which one is yours pls? (Versions start from S1062...S1762).

Pls start here and select Portables, Satellite, and A65 + Version, then click on "Show Results" button.

Alternately, you may want to jumpstart and try this for the RTL8139 and/or this for the Atheros WiFi. Both are for Windows XP.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Removing memory from Satellite A65-S126 Toshiba laptop

The built in 256 is integrated into the motherboard, and is not removable. If it's faulty, then, unfortunately, the motherboard will have to be replaced. There's no other way around it.
